Divorce

3 Identities of my Mysterious Wife

"Please...we can figure something else out." L.Joe pleaded.

Mihye shook her head. "I've decided, Byunghun oppa. There's no need to stop me."

L.Joe looked at her forlornly, trying to memorize her every feature. This came too abruptly , he didn't have time to think. But he did know that he didn't want her to go. And he didn't know how to make her stay.

"Are you going back to your parent's house?" L.Joe asked quietly.

Mihye bit her lip. "I don't think they'll welcome me back after this." she whispered. "I'm going to stay in Kevin oppa's house."

L.Joe stiffened. "Kevin hyung?"

Mihye ignored his tone and looked at him. "So I guess this is goodbye, Byunghun oppa." she forced a listless smile.

L.Joe felt dread grinding in the pita of his stomach, threatening to puke anytime. "Is it..." he muttered. "I guess."

Mihye bowed. "Thank you for all these times, Byunghun oppa."

She took her luggage and pulled it out of the door. L.Joe stared as she went, the emptiness in his heart growing tremendously with her every step. Her back view that seemed smaller and smaller was the worst view he had ever seen. He didn't want her to walk away from him again.

But will he have the chance to see her for that to happen, even?

Before he knew what he was doing, L.Joe rushed out of the door and pulled Mihye to him, crushing her body into hers. Mihye let out a gasp but L.Joe didn't care, burying his face into his hair as silent tears trickled down his cheeks.

Mihye closed her eyes and let her hands fall to her sides. She couldn't have the heart to hug him back. If she did, she might never be able to let go.

No, she knew she wouldn't be able to let go.

"Byunghun oppa." Mihye nudged him, when the moment got too long. L.Joe tore himself from her reluctantly and met her eyes pleadingly. "I'm asking this once more, Mihye." he murmured. "Must you really leave?"

Mihye gulped, biting her lips hard in order to divert her attention to the physical pain instead of the pain in her heart. "Yes." she finally responded. "I hope you'll see things in my point of view too, Byunghun oppa. I .... l-look forward to the lawyer's letter." she closed her eyes and turned to go, striding purposefully without a backward glance.

L.Joe gazed at her longingly. He love her. He loved her so much.

But what can he do to make her stay? What if he just blurted his feelings for her right now? Would things be different?

L.Joe took a step forward, Kevin Kevin came driving his van and parking it in front of Mihye. He got down the van with a bright charming smile and loaded Mihye's things, taking her hand and leading her onto the vehicle.

L.Joe took his step back. *I guess it won't change anything.*

"Sometimes they leave because they love you too much." L.Joe read a Miss Apple's message a dozen times.

L.Joe laid on his bed and stated at the ceiling. Mihye had been gone for five days.

Five days of sleepless nights. Five days of hunger. Five days of utter hell.

His bed seemed so much bigger without her in it. The house seemed so much sadder without her bright smiles. Everything in his life was so much duller and plainer without her lighting up his every corner.

He was barely living his life without her. Only now did he know how important she was to him. He was barely alive.

He stated at the message for a long time. "Does this mean that sometimes people let go...because they love you too much as well?" he muttered.

He looked out of the window and saw the hoards of reporters that were there from the first day of the news. Suddenly, he was glad Mihye wasn't here. If she was, she wouldn't be able to step out of the house at all. She would be haunted with phone calls and incessant reporters that begged for an interview.

Life would be pretty much a torture for her if she stayed with him.

Perhaps at this moment, the best person she should be with isn't a man of great status and wealth like him. But someone like Kevin.

L.Joe closed his eyes as he reached for his phone, knowing fully well he would regret this very moment for the rest of his life.

"Yeoboseyo?" he took a deep breath. "Lawyer Kim? Can you please draft a divorce paper for me?"

"You let her go?" Chunji stared at L.Joe like he was the stupidest person on Earth.

L.Joe downed another shot in misery.

The Teen Top boys looked at each other in utter confusion. Why did he do that? He just realized that he loved Mihye, and he realized that his first ever crush was on the same person as well.

Why didn't he just latch himself onto Mihye and not let her go?

"What the hell dude!" Even CAP couldn't believe this nonsense. "It's ing stupid! If she goes, it'll be even harder to get her back! Is that what you want?"

L.Joe laughed miserably. "She wasn't mine to begin with to get her back." he muttered, drinking. "She's right. It's the only possible solution for the fix we're in right now to convince people of the justice in MO and WO."

"But what about you?" Ricky retorted. "You're going to suffer like this all the while without her? Hyung, it's obvious she's more important than air to you, why did you give up your lifeline?"

"Because I love her, Ricky." L.Joe murmured drunkenly. "Because I ing love her and if I keep her by my side, she'll suffer so many criticisms. She cares for the other women, and if we divorce, she may still continue as the Queen and continue doing what she loves. Who knows," he laughed bitterly. "We can still see each other when we have meetings once in a while."

"Byunghun hyung..." Niel sighed as he watched his hyung be in such pain.

L.Joe felt a tear trickle down his cheek and he wiped it off, his fingers brushing the stubble that grew from not shaving.

"She's going to have a better life without me." L.Joe declared. "Im just making everything worse for her. Without me, she's going to be so much happier."

"And you?" Changjo asked.

L.Joe chuckled humorlessly. "There is no such thing as me from the moment I knew I love her. She's my everything. My everything, Changjo."

And that was the night Teen Top knew why a man's tears were so much more precious than a woman's.

Because when they fell, it only came with extreme pain.
