“Excuse me, ajhusshi. How much is this?” you picked up the radish.
“It’s 5000 won for a kilo.”
You furrowed your eyebrows.
“Ajhusshi, they’re only 4500 won in the store down the corner.”
“I have to make money.”
“Ajhusshi, help a fellow country person yeah?”
After much contemplation, the owner nodded his head, “Fine. But only because you’re a regular customer.”
You smiled, “Thank you! I’ll take 2 kilos please.”
Woohyun gave you a what-the-hell look. You smiled proudly to yourself.
“Yah, do you bargain like this all the time?”
“Yeah, bargaining is an essential. I just saved 500 won which could be saved towards my university fees.”
You paid the owner and walked away.
“Did you just mention that you were from the country?” Woohyun asked you.
“Yepp, couldn’t you tell?”
“You have a nice figure, I thought you worked out.”
You laughed, “Seriously, I’m a teenage girl. Why starve ourselves and pray that we never gain a single kilo at all.”
“You and your jokes,” Woohyun laughed as he held the bag for you.
“Hey, did you wash the clothes?” you asked Woohyun.
“Yes,” Woohyun said proudly before his face turned pale.
Your eyes widened, “You didn’t hang it! It’s written all over your face!”
“Why is it that whenever we talk about chores, it’s always seem like it’s about me.”
“That’s because you always leave it to the last minute,” you glared at Woohyun.
You let out a sigh and lowered your voice, “Okay, let’s go home before the clothes start to stink.”
I looked into the clothes dryer and my heart starting beating quickly. Beating quickly with fear.
I bit my bottom lip as I nervously opened the door of the clothes dryer. I pulled out the clothes and I almost died. All the clothes that were white are now pink…
Aigoo… she’s going to kill me! I pulled out any clothes that belonged to Jenny… crap! Her uniform… why on Earth do uniform shirts have to be white? I picked up the culprit of this crime; my red jacket.
I have to do something and quick… I quickly folded the remaining clothes and picked up Jenny’s shirts.
I hid Jenny’s shirts under my sheets and walked towards the kitchen.
“Aigoo…” I said loudly.
“Your uniform, it’s so worn out! How can you go to high school like that?”
“Why? The stitches are still in place and it doesn’t have any holes in it…”
I walked up to her and put my arm around her shoulder and lead her towards the door, “We should go buy uniform for you. My treat.”
“Yeah!” I said enthusiastically.
“But I’m half way through my lunch…” Jenny frowned, “It’s wasteful.”
“You can eat it in my car!”
Jenny scoffed, “Ajhusshi, why are you being so nice?”
“Because I’m a nice,” I smiled as I opened the door.
I grabbed Jenny’s bag, gave it to her and pushed her out the door.
“What size shirt are you?” I asked.
She gave me a what-the-hell look and continued looking through the rack.
I looked at the clothes and flashbacks of being back in high school hit me. I miss being a kingka…
Jenny laughed, “What? Are you feeling nostalgic?”
I nodded my head, “A slight bit.”
“Seriously? I want to get out of high school as soon as possible.”
“That’s because you’re so cold to everyone.”
“Well, it’s not like I chose to be in solitude, it’s just that I value my personal space over the very superficial ‘popularity’.”
“You should buy other uniform too. There’s no point in you having a brand new shirt and everything looks old.”
Why on earth am I volunteering to buy her extra clothing? Don’t I only owe her a few shirts? Why?
“Excuse me! Can I please get five of the shirts and skirts please?”
I’m so surprised at this girl; she’s the opposite of typical girls. She acts cold act school and to everyone else she’s so warm. It’s nice to see a change in the type of girls I meet. The girls I usually meet are girls pretend that they are all cute and they all have a hidden agenda, most of them wanting to take my money.
I walked over to the counter and paid for the uniform. Gosh, I don’t remember uniform being this expensive. It’s worth two weeks of my pay. But she’s pretty so it’s okay. Ahahaha.
Jenny chuckled, “What? Are you happy that I purposely spent a lot of your money?”
“Ajhusshi, I know that you made my school uniform go pink,” Jenny smirked, “So I decided to teach you a lesson.”
What? So she wasted my money on purpose. That girl!
“You sure did; 600 000 won worth!”
“Calm down,” she reached into her pocket and pulled out 350 000 won.
She returned some of the clothing? I didn’t really mind buying it for her though…
“I gave back two shirts, three skirts and two jackets,” Jenny smiled.
I thought money was everything to her; a person like her would have taken this opportunity to buy the whole store…
“What? Are you not going to take it?”
I laughed; she’s really something this girl.
“I will thank you very much and I’ll use the money to treat us to some delicious Italian food.”
Jenny frowned as she grabbed my hand with the money in it, “No! We went shopping for food today for lunch. You can go eat on your own. I’m going home to eat and work on hacking Chunji’s phone since his dad has probably gotten a new number by now.”
I nodded my head. I guess I should think of a way to get information on Lee Kyung Nam.
