Description

Choi Reein is 17 years old. Clever, mature, slightly geeky, wears glasses, she whould give anything to fit in with people who aren't 'teacher's pets'. Reein may be nerdy, but she has talent. She is a great actor and dancer, but her true personality and beauty really shines when she sings. But she is so shy, no-one knows about it! Except her parents, who are gonna change that in the biggest way possible.

Before she can blink, Reein becomes the New Girl at Syungjin School of Performing Arts ( or SSPA as the students call it). She soon befriends IU, another talented songbird. Then Reein comes face-to-face with the most popular pupils at SSPA. TeenTop. These boys have been Syungjin School Kingkas for as long as anyone can remember. None of them take any notice of Reein, until she has to sing in class that is. Suddenly, she becomes SSPA's newest gossip topic. And not just for her voice either. Is it really true that one of the TeenTop boys fancies her? Or is someone trying to wind her up?

Threre's only one way to find out...

Foreword

DING-DONG-DING-DONG

The school bell rang. Everyone groaned as they where given their homework books. Well, I didn't. I heard wispers as I put my book in my backpack. "I bet she'll finish that in no time." Eu-Jing sneered. Her snobby friend Min-a laughed. "Yeah, GeekiReeRee always brings it in first!" Some saddos sniggered at the back of the room. I hurried through the crowd of kids fighting to get out. I sighed as I got my things out of my locker. My best friend Mikia appeared beside me. Eu-Jing and Min-a came through the door, 'trying' to keep straight faces. But, they took one look at me and burst out laughing. "Ignore them." Mikia said. "It'll stop one day." And she was right, sort-of.

"Anneyong Reein." My oppa said as I walked through the front-door. "We have a surprise for you." It had better be good. I thought. My omma  stood beside him, smiling. "You're moving to a new school." My heart leapt for joy. "Really?Really really?" Oppa nodded. This surprise was more than good, it was fantacstic! No more Eu-Jing! No more Min-a!  No more Mikia... then somthing crossed my mind. "What is my new school called?" My parent's smiles faded then. "Well, er, the thing is Reein, it isn't like Akin High." I frowned. "What do you mean oppa?" Omma spoke up. "It is a,er, performing arts school. Syungjin Performing Arts, to be exact." I stared at them "WHAT!?!?" Omma put her arm round me. "Now don't worry. You don't have to stay there forever. You can leave whenever you want to,but just try it for a few weeks?" I looked at her. "Why performing arts?"  Oppa smiled. "Because you have a lot of talent. We've seen you in plays, dancing to music, heard you singing in your room..." I went bright red then, because I get really embarassed whenever someone hears me, thanks to Eu-Jing. She caught me singing in the gym-changing rooms when I started high school and laughed, saying I sounded like a high-pitched screaming cat, and I've never been the same since. I was having serious douts, but I looked at my parents, their eyes full of hope. "Well, I suppose I could give it a try..." Omma clapped her hands in delight. "Wonderful! I'll ring the school and reserve your place!"  Oppa smiled. "You will be great Reein. You have many talents." I hugged him hard. "Thankyou oppa."  Then I went to my room. I had to make a call of my own.

BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEP

"Anneyong. Mikia speaking."

"Mikia, it's Reein."

"Oh! Reein! What's up?"

"I'm moving schools."

"You WHAT!?"

I'm going to Syungjin School of Performing Arts."

"A performing arts high school? Why?"

I explained everything.

"Wow." She paused for a moment. "You never told me you could sing!"

"That's because I get embarassed whenever someone hears me."

"You aren't going to stay there are you? How can I survive the beasts Eu-Jing and Min-a without you?"

"I'm sure you'll find a way. You always do."

"Are you really staying there forever?"

"I don't know. My parents say I could leave if I wanted to...but I have to 'try it out' first."

"Oh. I'm going to miss you."

"I 'll miss you too Mikia. But we'll always be friends forever."

"Yeah!"

"Bye MiMi."

"Bye ReRe!"

I whould do anything to take her with me.

I am soooo glad I won't be seeing the beasts again. Poor Mikia. What is she going to do while I'm gone? Oh well, I can call her later. I have a new school to go to.

Aissh, this school is huge. Noisy kids everywhere. I don't mean that in a bad way. Some kids are singing, some kids are playing instruments, and some kids are saying lines. Most kids are talking. They stared at me as I walked along the corridor. I was too busy worrying that I didn't notice a girl with long black hair in bunches walking towards me.

BUMP-SCREAM-THUD

Her books and folders went everywhere. "Omo, I'm so sorry." I said. But she didn't seem fussed. "Don't worry, it happens sometimes." I helped to gather her things and we stood up. She looked at me. "Hey, I haven't seen you round here before. Are you new?" I nodded. "Who;s class are you in?"

"Miss Yang's."

She smiled. "Me too! Why don't we be friends? I could show round SSPA if you like."

"Alright. What's SSPA?"

" It's what we call the school." She explained. "My name's IU, what's yours?"

"Reein." Before we could say another word, the corridor erupted with girl's screams. IU rolled her eyes. "Here come the big-shot kingkas." Right on cue, six   cute boys in black appeared, girls fighting to get a glimpse of them. "Who are they?" I asked. "They are TeenTop. SSPA's most popular students." IU said. "They have been for ages. You'll never stop hearing about them." Then, the boy with dark-red hair stepped forward. "Morning ladies. How are you all doing?" Pffft. They're already acting like celebritys, yet they're just junior high schoolkids. IU wasn't empressed either. " Let's go. We've got singing class." She said pulling me through the crowd of crazed girls. I must admit, they where cute.
