It was Friday already. Time went by a little quicker now since you had a friend to share the boring moments with.

The classrooms emptied out for lunch.

After eating kimbap for lunch, you and Jiyeon decided to get a little sunshine outside. “I’ll go get some candy in my backpack. Go wait outside first.” She said. “Araso.” You left.

Jiyeon went up to the classroom and pulled the packs of candies out of her backpack. She headed downstairs and froze. Daehyun was on his way up. Jiyeon suddenly blurted, “Hi!”

Daehyun froze. Who the hell dared block his path? He looked up with his dark, resilient eyes. *It’s her. The girl that stole Yeojin from me.*

“Hi.” Jiyeon shyly smiled.

Daehyun just walked past her.

“Wait!” She blurted. He stopped.

Jiyeon appeared in front of him again. “Um, we met before, remember?” Daehyun just gazed at her without a single word. “I’m Yeojin’s friend, Jiyeon. It’s nice to meet you. You’re Daehyun, right?” She held out her hand with a smile that would’ve melted any other boy’s heart.

Instead, Daehyun went around her and headed upstairs. Jiyeon pouted deeply and scratched her head *Did I do something wrong? Hmm…* She went back out where you were waiting.

You smiled and waved. Jiyeon half-heartedly waved back and sat next to you.

You studied her face, “What’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing. Here. The candy.” Jiyeon held the different chocolates and hard sweets out.

You popped a gumball in your mouth while Jiyeon thought about Daehyun.

From his classroom, Daehyun was watching you two, mostly you. His eyes wandered to you and remained there. You popped the bubblegum and laughed. Daehyun softened *It’s not fair. I want to be with you. I want to make you laugh.*

School ended for the weekend and you were glad. You said goodbye to Jiyeon and headed home.

Zelo was gone, of course, and Youngjae had already told you he was going to the auto shop.

You assumed Daehyun was gone also. You were starting to walk when someone pushed you from behind. You spun around, “What the-“ Daehyun crossed his arms and unhappily frowned at you.

“Oh, Daehyun oppa! You were still here!” Your eyes widened. He pointed at you with hostility, as if saying ‘how dare you!’

You defensively shrugged, “What? You always run off without me. I thought it was the same today!”

Daehyun rolled his eyes and stormed off. “Wait for me, oppa!” You followed him.

Soon, you were walking next to him. You looked up at him. You hadn’t noticed how tall Daehyun had become. His black mask covered his nose and mouth. You wondered what his jaw line looked like now then shook your head. Daehyun gave you a queer look. You blurted, “Do you want to stop by the auto shop and see oppas?”

He shook his head.

“Then should we go get something to eat?” You asked.

He shook his head again.

“Of course not. You wouldn’t want a reason to take off your mask in front of me.” You muttered. You gave him a hard look, “Tell me the truth, oppa. Do you only wear your mask to annoy me? Is that it? You take it off when I’m not home but when I am you just want to irritate me and wear that stupid thing?”

All Daehyun did was shrug. You sighed, “Forget it. Why do I even bother?”

Daehyun watched you walk away and smiled. You turned back. He quickly straightened his face and started walking again.

“Do you want ice cream? My treat.” You offered.

Daehyun shook his head.

“ARGH! What do you ever want to do?!” You said, annoyed to the max.

Daehyun bit his bottom lip to keep from laughing.

“Forget you.” You shoved him with your body and walked faster.

Daehyun blinked in surprise then quickly went to catch up with you. He bumped against your body, sending you sprawling against the wall.

Your eyes rounded in surprise, ‘Daehyun oppa!” He started running.

“OPPA!” You chased after him.

A girl stepped out from the shadows and watched the two of you. *Jung Daehyun and Song Yeojin. What is really both your relationship? Song Yeojin, is Jung Daehyun only ‘a boy that lives with you’?* She stepped back with suspicious eyes. With a toss of her hair, she went into the back of her white Rolls Royce.
