The day finally ended near 4 p.m. You went to your locker and pulled out the books you would need for tonight’s homework. You went to the front of the school where the boys would be waiting for you.

You stepped outside and no one was there.

You received two texts. One was from Zelo and the other was from Youngjae.

‘Going out with friends!’- Zelo.

‘Going to the auto shop right away.’- Youngjae.

*What about Daehyun oppa?* You looked around. No one else was around. *I guess I’m going home alone then.* You tightened the straps on your backpack and headed out of the gates.

Daehyun appeared from behind the wall and gazed at you. *Mianhae. I’m afraid if I walk with you alone; you’ll start asking me questions. I won’t answer and I’ll probably have to be mean to you again. I don’t want you to be hurt. Instead, I’ll watch you from behind like your guardian angel.* He quietly followed you.

You didn’t even notice him. You were too busy staring at the ground as you walked. You kicked a few pebbles here and there. You spotted an empty can on the ground and picked it up. You tossed it into the nearest recycle bin and dusted your hands.

Daehyun softened *Always the good girl.*

You stopped by the nearest market. You grabbed ice cream, sweet bread, and banana milk. The lady scanned the items, “Six dollars 500 won.” You pulled out the money from your backpack and paused. *Oops. I forgot to get my allowance money from the jar.* “Um, actually I’ll just take the ice cream.” You meekly smiled.

The lady gave you an annoyed look, “1 dollar.”

You handed the bill to her, “Thank you.” You took the ice cream, bowed, and left.

“Tsk. Annoying.” The lady was about to put it away but Daehyun came over. She gave him a curious look and her eyebrows furrowed questioningly at his mask. Daehyun put money on the table, “I’ll get those.”

You arrived at home and tossed the finished ice cream into the trash can. You looked around at the messy home. You put your backpack down and went to work right away. You gathered the trash on the ground, vacuumed the floor, and washed the pile of dishes.

You came out of the kitchen to see Daehyun coming in. “Oh, oppa.” He quickly hid the bag of snacks behind his back.

“I thought you went to the garage with Youngjae oppa.” You said.

Daehyun shook his head. “Oh. Okay.” You headed upstairs.

Daehyun watched you disappear on the second floor. He quickly darted into the kitchen. Daehyun hid the cake in the cupboard and stashed the banana milk way in the back of the refrigerator where Zelo couldn’t get his hands on it. He shut the refrigerator with a sigh of satisfaction. *I did it.*

“HONEY! I’M HOME!” Himchan bellowed. It was night and the older boys had returned from the auto shop. You came downstairs, “Did you eat dinner?” “Of course not, dear!” Himchan said in a fake husband voice.

You looked around, “Where’s Yongguk oppa?” “Here.” He came in through the door.

“I made grilled mackerel. That’s okay, right?” You asked. “Anything is fine. I’m starving.” Yongguk patted his abs.

“Let me just heat it up.” You went into the kitchen. Yongguk turned a war movie on and sat on the couch, “Call me when it’s done!”

Himchan scurried after you. He caught your waist from behind and squeezed you tightly. “Yeojin-ah! I missed you! Didn’t you miss me? Oppa thought of you a lot especially during lunch. I thought of you THIS MUCH!” He waved his arms in a huge circle then hugged your waist again as he tilted his head and beamed at you, “What about you? How much did you think of oppa today?”

“Yongguk oppa! Himchan oppa is stopping me from making your dinner!” You called.

“KIM HIMCHAN!” Yongguk shouted.

Himchan took his hands off of you, “Araso, araso!” He backed away with a sly look and pointed at you, I see what you’re doing. Playing hard to get, huh? Well just wait for me. I’ll be right back after my hot shower! RAWR!” Himchan waved his ‘claws’ towards you and disappeared into the restroom.

You rolled your eyes. Zelo came down, “Food!”

“Zelo, I already gave you dinner two hours ago.” You said.

“Yeah, but that was two hours ago.” He innocently blinked.

“Sit down.” You said. “YAY!” Zelo sat down and banged his chopsticks on the table.

Himchan hadn’t come out of the shower so you let Zelo and Yongguk eat first. By the time Himchan came back out, they were done eating. “What?! I have to eat alone?!” He shrieked in disbelief.

“Shut down!” Zelo disappeared in a flash. Yongguk went back to his war movie.

You put the rice on the table and headed out. Himchan caught your wrist, “Where do you think you’re going?” You slapped your forehead *I knew I should’ve ran away when I had the chance.*

“Come here!” Himchan yanked you down onto his lap. “It’s rude for you to leave oppa’s side when he’s eating alone. Tsk, tsk. Who taught you bad manners?”

You rolled your eyes, “I’m sure it’s not my parents.”

Himchan chuckled, “Yeah, none of us have those.”

You sat on the chair next to him and watched him eat. He held the rice out, “Ahh~”

You shook your head, “I already ate.” “I’m going to eat extra slowly~ HA!” Himchan happily nibbled on his rice.

You put your elbow on the table and planted your cheek on your palm. “So…” Himchan seriously looked at you, “How was your first day back?” “It was okay. Nothing special.” You shrugged. “Really? Why?” He asked. As the two of you discussed your first day back, Daehyun came downstairs. He snuck past you two like a ninja and opened the refrigerator.

You looked up, “Daehyun oppa.” He froze *Shit.*

“Do you need something?” You asked. Daehyun fervently shook his head. He swiped the banana milk and stashed it into the pocket of his sweater. He quickly ran to the cupboard, grabbed the bread, and ran upstairs.

“What’s with him?” You wondered. Himchan shrugged, “You never know with Jung Daehyun.”

Daehyun came upstairs and sighed in relief *Whew. That was close.* He glanced around then went into your room. Daehyun set the milk and bread on top of your math textbook. A smile came upon his face *For you, Song Yeojin.*

His smile disappeared when he heard Youngjae calling your name.

*Oh snap!* Daehyun quickly left your room at the exact moment you were coming up. Daehyun snuck into his room and shut the door. You talked to Youngjae for a few minutes then went into your room. *Time for homework.*

You stretched your arms and went to your desk. Your eyes rounded in surprise, “Oh!” *What are these doing here?!* You grabbed the snacks and stared at them in awe *These were what I was going to buy earlier at the market. How did these…?* You glanced around, wondering if one of the boys were hidden in your room. You gazed down at the snacks and a grateful smile came on your face *Whoever it is, thank you. I will eat this and be energized so that I can finish my work!*

You happily sat down at your desk and began to eat. You opened your textbook and pulled out a pen.

Your door cracked open and Daehyun peeked inside. He saw you munching on the bread.

You did a problem on the scratch paper and sipped your banana milk.

A big smile formed on his lips. He felt full just watching you.

Quietly he shut the door and headed back to his room.
