Adventure with Zico

Half an hour later, you and Zico were eating dukkbokki at the snack stand.

“Fuck! It’s freezing cold!” He shivered and popped another piece of dukkbokki in his mouth. Zico glanced at you.

You were busy eating dukkbokki and sipping some of the o-dang soup. His expression softened and his heart warmed up automatically. *Just seeing her eat makes me full.*

There was sauce on your bottom lip and you licked it off. Zico gulped, causing his Adam’s apple to bob up and down.

You noticed him watching and blinked at him, “What are you staring at? Is there something on my face?”

Zico blinked then started jumping up and down, “DAMN! IT’S COLD! SHIT!”

You chuckled at his cursing. You took a paper cup and poured some of the o-dang soup into there. “Here.” You held it out. Zico blinked at you curiously. “It’ll help you keep warm.” You stretched out your arm.

Zico slightly softened then took the cup. You took your own cup and sipped on the soup. *That’s the first time in a while that someone has given me a warm gesture.* Zico’s lips perked up into a genuine smile and he carefully sipped the soup. You took another o-dang and started to eat it.

“By the way, won’t your ‘boyfriend’ freak if he knows you’re with me?” Zico asked.

You froze and your eyes widened. For a moment you had forgotten about B.A.P.

“I’ll take that as a yes.” Zico chuckled. He leaned down to your ear and whispered, “I won’t tell if you won’t.”

You choked on your o-dang. “Whoa, slow down girl. Feeling guilty already?” Zico patted your back.

You stepped away from him, “I’m fine. Thank you.” You put the o-dang down. Suddenly you weren’t so hungry anymore. You pulled out your wallet.

“No way. Put the wallet away, Panda Bear.” Zico lightly pushed you back and stepped in front of you. He pulled out his black leather wallet and opened the fold.

“But I ate more than you.” You pointed out. “But I bet I’m fuller than you.” Zico waged.

“Huh?” You were confused. Zico just smirked *You’ll never know what that meant.* He handed the ahjumma the money and smoothly slipped his wallet in his back pocket.

The two of you started walking home. “Thanks for the dukkbokki, Zico. Although I see no reason why you would buy me food…” You scratched your head.

“Jiho oppa.” He corrected. You looked up, “Muh?”

Zico went around you and stepped in front of you, blocking your path. He gazed down at you, “Call me Jiho oppa.”

“Jiho…oppa? But don’t people call you Zico?” You asked.

“Jiho oppa or Zico oppa, whatever. Just call me oppa. I want to hear you call me oppa.” Zico said.

You uncomfortably rubbed the back of your neck *Feels so awkward. I’ve only known six oppas my whole life and now I’ll have seven? Not to mention, he’s blonde, too.*

“Please?” Zico whispered. You slowly looked up at him. There was no hint of joke on his face. He was sincere. He wanted you to call him oppa. “As a Christmas gift?” He pleaded. *How can I say no to that?* You sighed. After a pause, you spoke. “…Jiho oppa?”

His eyes brightened, “Again.”

“Jiho oppa…Zico oppa? Frankly, I like Zico oppa better-“ Your eyes bulged out as he threw his arms around you. Your body froze entirely. You could imagine the fit Yongguk would throw if he saw you right now. You snapped out of your daze and pushed him, “H-hey now. W-what are you doing- ah!” You stumbled forward as he squeezed you tighter. *What can I do?!* You thought.

“You know…” Zico finally spoke. You opened your eyes.

Zico grasped the tops of your arms and pulled back to look into your eyes. He slid his thumb under your eye across your dark circle and smiled affectionately, “…You’re pretty cute, Panda Bear.” Your face flamed red. Himchan called you a lot of sweet names but you didn’t know why you reacted differently with Zico.

“Have a good Christmas, Song Yeojin…” He lightly pinched your cheek and left.

You touched your warm cheek *What just happened?!* You spun around.

Zico was gone. You blinked, stunned. *He was so…nice and gentle. That’s unlike the Zico I know. Or maybe that is the real Zico and I just didn’t realize it at all.* Still thinking about him, you headed home.

“YAH!” Youngjae yelled. You jumped out of your thoughts, “Yikes!"

“Where have you been and what’s up with that text?!” He asked.

Before you could answer, Yongguk entered the room. *Uh-oh.* You stiffened as he approached you. He crossed his arms and eyed you, “Where were you?” “Uh…nowhere. Just…around.” You tried not to look too obvious. “Those are totally two different answers.” Yongguk furrowed his eyebrows.

“Yeah, well now I’m home so that’s what’s important. I’m going to take a shower-“ You tried to sneak past him but he yanked your backpack back. “Waaa!” You crashed into him.

Yongguk bent down and sniffed your neck. Your body became rigid. He was like a shark that could smell blood. *What if he can ‘smell’ Zico on me? I mean, he hugged me. What if that scent remained on me?* You gulped.

“Did you eat dukkbokki?” Yongguk asked. Your mouth fell wide open, “How’d you know?!”

“NOONA! NOOO!” Zelo appeared out of nowhere. “How can you eat something delicious without me?! You’re a betrayer!” He whined. You ruffled his curly hair, “Mianhae. I’ll buy you some next time.”

You looked at Yongguk, “Can I go shower now?” “Go ahead.” He nodded.

*Thank God.* You ran upstairs. You glanced back *Yongguk oppa scares me sometimes.* You shook your head and faced forward, only to be blocked by Daehyun. You stepped back, “Wa, Daehyun oppa! You surprised me!”

You took a step to the left, only to be blocked by him again. You stepped to the right and he thwarted you again. You curiously tilted your head, “Wae?”

Daehyun lifted his head up and looked firmly into your eyes. He tapped his watch and nodded at the stairs. ‘Where have you been this entire time?’

“I was just around the neighborhood, uh, eating dukkbokki.” You answered.

Daehyun raised an eyebrow. He pointed to you as if indicating, ‘By yourself?’

You nodded, a little too eagerly, “Yup! Just me!” Daehyun furrowed his eyebrows and crossed his arms *I don’t believe you.* “I’m going to shower…” You tried to go to your room but he blocked your door.

“Daehyun oppa.” You whispered. He stepped closer to you and examined your eyes. ‘Tell me. Tell me who you were with all this time.’

You opened your mouth, ready to give in. But at that exact moment, Himchan came up the stairs, “Oh, baby doll! You’re home!”

Daehyun looked up, momentarily distracted. You used that opportunity to push past him and enter your room. Daehyun spun around to catch you but you slammed the door in his face. He attempted to open the door but you locked it just in time.

*Damn!* Daehyun thought.

“What’s going on? You guys playing tag?” Himchan asked.

Daehyun turned around and glowered at him *Thanks, hyung.* He huffily went into his bedroom and slammed the door shut.

Himchan scratched his head, “Was it something I said?”

You pulled your ear away from the door and sighed in relief. *Thank you, Himchan oppa.* For now you had to keep your adventures with Zico to yourself. *I don’t like keeping secrets from them but I don’t want them to get upset.*

You touched your cheek thoughtfully *The question is…will there be more adventures with Zico?*
