[HIATUS] ▶▶ Levels Of Ecstasy ◀◀

Life isn't easy when you're the one and only daughter of a loan shark gang leader. Always having to be escorted by huge ass bodyguards, should there ever be a day when one of your dad's rivals or enemies comes charging after you in an attempt to slice your head off. Or if one of your dad's clients who just went bankrupt tries to murder you out of anger because your dad wouldn't lend them any money due to their horrible credit scores.

And what kind of guy is going to like a girl whose father is rumored of killing anyone who gets on his nerve? What kind of person is going to want to befriend a girl whose father is known to be a gang leader? Not a sane person.

Never in my life have I been able to attend a birthday party or throw my own with a bunch of friends. Never was I invited to watch a movie or asked out on a date by a cute guy in school. Heck, I'd even be happy if a girl asked me out on a date. It'd be the most socialization I'll ever get in my entire life.

Not only is my lack of friends due to people being scared of my dad, but the biggest factor is that my dad is too fucking protective of me. He's so damn protective, I can't even be friends with the three guys from my own school that he recently brought into his gang as new members. He says that none of them are "worthy" of being my friend because they're homeless kids who he only brought in as members because they were good at fighting. He won't even let me say hi to them. Not even at school and definitely not at home. My room is on the 2nd floor while their rooms are on the 4th. The saddest part is, I don't even know their full names. I just know that their last names are Lee, Kwon, and Dong.

But honestly, I don't even think they can say hi back to me if I ever was to greet them. My dad made them sign a contract and take an oath never to interact with me as long as they're living under his rules. I know he's only trying to do all this to protect me, but it's just ruining me day by day.

"A new member is joining us today. Isn't that great news?"

"A new member? Already? But you just got three members recently..." I immediately looked up at my dad who was blissfully drinking away at his glass of Scotch and Brandy mix. I couldn't understand why he was suddenly bringing in so many new members. We've been doing fine with the amount of members we've had until now, but why the sudden additions?

"You do know I'm growing weaker and older by every minute that passes, right, Eunbyul?" His eyes forming into crescents, he took another sip. "And your brother is going to need all the help he can get once he takes over this business. I need to find the best and youngest aggressors now before it's too late."

"Daesung doesn't even want to take over. I don't understand why you're trying so hard to make him just like yourself. You know how much he hates what you do, don't you?"

"Eunbyul, your brother is still young and naive. He doesn't understand the importance of what I do... look, the new member is going to arrive any minute now so we'll continue this conversation some other time. Go upstairs to your room and I'll meet you back downstairs at dinner." And just like that, he gently pushes me out of his office and into the living room.


"Beats me. I'll never understand why he wants Daesung to take over this dangerous job..." I mumbled to myself as I headed for the front door to get some fresh air from outside. "And I thought dad's were supposed to want the best for their childr--!"

"Oh, shit... I'm so sorry, are you okay? I didn't mean to bump into you like that.."

"I'm fine, but who.. you.. who are you?" I quickly stood up from the grass when I realized that I had just bumped into someone and fell onto the ground like some idiot. The moment I looked up at where this unfamiliar voice was coming from, I managed to look like an even bigger idiot when I stumbled upon my words.

"Right, my apologies. I should have introduced myself first." He smiled and held out his hand in front of me as if waiting for a handshake.

"I'm Choi Seunghyun. I'm the new guy moving in today."
