It had been two years since Pia last saw the boys, but not because she didn’t want to. In fact, it was quite the opposite. A few months after the Stray Kids fanmeet she auditioned for JYP as a “half joke”. Of course she practiced and even threw in a little choreo. However, never did she expect to be chosen.

At first her parents were conflicted because they would be sending their daughter to a place where she didn’t really know anyone or how to speak the language. Pia managed to convince them though. She would stay in touch with them often and finish school.

After that she was sent to the JYP headquarters in Seoul. Her heart was racing because now she could meet not only Stray Kids again, but GOT7, Twice and even Day6. Everything felt surreal and she couldn’t believe this was happening. Only she didn’t have much time to be amused.

She immediately began training a few days after settling in and everyday was exhausting. Some days she would miss her family, the home-cooked meals and her friends. Studying Korean was difficult along with schoolwork, dance lessons and vocal training. Many nights she cried and thought about quitting to return home.

Then, she met Sara, a girl in her Korean class, who was a foreigner like her. She was much better at Korean than Pia, but luckily she could speak English which made her feel more comfortable. She told Pia that she was from America, but her mom was Hispanic and her dad was Korean.

One day she told Pia, “You’re really pretty.” Pia acknowledged her compliment with a grateful nod. “Do you want to form a group with me?”

Sara already had a few other girls that she had brought together. From then on they would eat and train together everyday. Finally, Pia felt more at home with them. Eventually, Sara suggested they go perform on streets and post videos to start a fanbase. They all agreed and began promoting themselves under the name  Juliette.

They were popular and within a few months a letter came. JYP wanted to meet them. The meeting was simple they were so popular they were getting request to appear on shows. So, he decided it was time to prepare them for debut. They signed their contracts and were to begin preparations immediately.
