Dreamcatcher: A Prequel of Prequel

Description

Set in the year of 1994, Lee Si-yeon, a part-time retailer in a musical instrument store, decided to enter the third international guitar contest held in Leeds, UK. She became famous after winning the contest, with the grand prize being a Jackson USA Randy Rhoads RR1. Si-yeon was contacted by the winner of the first contest, guitarist Baek Han-byul, who was interested in playing in a band, and the two decided to form Minx. Si-yeon's co-worker, Im Dong-wan, and Han-byul's friend, Choi Hyun-tak, joined the band soon after. From there, Minx's two-year journey began (before being reformed as Dreamcatcher).

Foreword

A brief introduction to my universe: the new wave of Korean heavy metal (based on the Korean wave or Hallyu) blasted off in Seoul in 1995, with the progressive metal band Red Velvet debuting with the gold-selling album "The Red". And yes, you can guess it, most K-pop groups in real life will be in this universe rock and metal bands.

Dreamcatcher is one of the pioneering groups of the movement and is also influential to the development of the Seoul groove metal scene. Formed in 1994 as Minx and reformed in 1996 (both by guitarist and vocalist Siyeon), the band quickly became phenomenal after dropping their first studio album, "Fall Asleep in the Mirror".

My plan is to write a seven-chapter story which mainly focuses on this band, based on the number of members and also seven major events throughout their 24 year-long career. "A Prequel of Prequel" focuses on the Minx years, serving as the first chapter.

Since there are English-speaking characters, I'll use this font right here for Korean and "Times New Roman" for English.

And this is the prequel of prequel, just like the title, so there will only be Siyeon featured in this story. But don't worry, the other members will appear in the later stories.

(Sorry guys, but Siyeon is my bias LOL)

I'm currently working on the first chapter and will update it soon!
