Chapter 1: I LOVE how you have a lot to say about this topic but I would suggest finding a way to relay this through your story and not just jumble it all up together like so. There's a lot of vague telling and because of that, I found the chapter stilted. A good proofread from someone other than yourself would do wonders.

I particularly liked the imagery given to us with: "He couldn't help but place his chin above his knees, looking every bit as awkward as he had when he had been in junior high."
