“You told me that you had never been under the limelight before. Maybe you don't realize this because you are busy playing the drums on that stage, but sometimes, there is this split second moment when the light would move and shine on you. A very short moment, but it is enough to illuminate you.”

“Even so, you don’t even need that light, Hyukjae. That light indeed had helped me enough to be able to see you, but that wasn’t the moment that got my attention. In fact, it was the seconds after, when you smiled with that excited glint in your eyes.”

Hyukjae didn’t know exactly when, but he realized that their palms were now clasped together perfectly in a warm hold.

“Because in those few seconds afterwards, I saw the you who were shining brightly. So bright even without the limelight aiming at you.”

Next to them both, the crowd cheered in excitement for the small summer party celebration. But Hyukjae’s eyes were only on the brunet haired man in front of him—the man with beautiful brown eyes, and soft looking hair that fell gently on his forehead. Donghae’s low and sweet voice sounded so loud to him, ringing in his ears.

The sound of fireworks being lit up and blasting towards the sky could be heard, along with a bright explosion of light. Hyukjae had his gaze frozen on Donghae’s beautiful eyes; the eyes so clear that it reflected the bright light even more beautifully. For a moment, he felt that time had stopped.

One second, two seconds.

Hyukjae had seen the light, and then the sound followed.

But this time not from the sky above them, not from the fireworks that had been blooming in various colors. The sound came from within him instead.

The sound of his own heart, beating loudly, resounding in his ears.

This fic is completely done/written/posted, but in Indonesian language. So here I am translating my own fic to English so I can share it with AFF.

I would probably change a few tidbits too here and there though, because I admit some parts in the Indonesian version was super rushed and shortened to fit in the 14k words quota (…altho in the end it passed the limit still), so it will make more sense and be better overall. Just because I’m hard on myself like that haha.

Confession – this fic wasn’t supposed to be too fluffy. But how many of you want to bet that it’s going to turn into fluff anyway, even with the edits? XD
