Doo Joon

The handshake came to an end and we took a break in between. I sat down and drank my water thirstily. A smile was seen on my face as I looked at my hand. I wonder where she is now. Why didn’t she follow me in? There was not much time for me to think, as me, Gi Kwang and Junhyung were to perform first. As we stepped onto the stage with cheering fans the three of us smiled at each other and nodded. We started the song by throwing roses at the audience. I saw Young Soon in the crowd and pretended to be searching for her, throwing the rose to her. Luckily she got it before people around her get it. As all of the roses were given out, I searched for Young Soon but she was nowhere to be found. The male dancers dressed up as girls were walking towards us and I noticed that one of them seemed smaller than the other two, and somehow more feminine… my eyes light up immediately when I saw the person’s first. Gi Kwang and Junhyung saw her too, and all three of tried to subtly pull her to our side. As the first lines of “Should I hug you or not” started, I felt a pair of small hands wrapped around my body rather awkwardly. Young Soon’s the one dancing with me. The thought makes me excited and nervous at the same time.  “Young Soon-ah, relax.” I whispered to her while Junhyung was rapping. “But it’s so sudden…” she trailed off and we turned around to face each other. The part where we have to “hug” each other came and instead of leaving a space between us I hugged her close to me. Fan girls started screaming louder than ever but I continue singing. “This time I will make sure you will come into my warm embrace.” I sang to her while her head was buried in my chest in embarrassment.

Young Soon

I was just standing in the crowd, watching him performing and shining on stage, feeling happy and excited like all the fan girls around me. Our eyes met and he threw the rose at me. Instinctively my hands caught it and I waved it like a light stick in time with the music. At that moment my cell phone vibrated and I stood further away to take the call. “Hello?” it was Dongwoon and he sounded panicked. “Noona! Where are you?! Come to the dressing room now!” hearing the urgent tone in his voice, I hanged up and rushed to the dressing room. Yoseob, Hyun Seung and Dong Woon stood up immediately. Hyun Seung pushed a bundle of clothes into my arms. “Change into this. We have not much time left!” I changed into the clothes and rushed out. “One of our male dancers injured his leg so you are going to take his place.” I started opening my mouth but Yoseob cut in “You know the dance! You had seen Doo Joon danced it so many times. It’s the hugging dance that Doo Joon always is so shy to dance to.” I remembered the dance well, because it’s the cutest dance I had ever seen and I love it a lot. “It’s time to go on stage!” they shouted words of encouragement and I walked out onto the stage, keeping my head low. The other two dancers moved to their allocated partners and I realised that my partner is Doo Joon. It feels awkward to hug him but he didn’t seem to mind. As the song is about to come to an end, he hugged me really tightly and I can hear screams from all the fans. I lifted my head up and peeked at him. He removed his hands and shouted into his microphone. “This is my girlfriend, Kim Young Soon! She’s pretty right?” to my surprise, everyone smiled at me and exclaimed cheerfully “Yes!” in front of everyone, he knelt down and said with a ringbox in his hands “Will you marry me?” I took a step backward in surprise. This was unexpected. But I have never doubt that this would happen someday. “Say yes, Say yes, say yes!” fans chanted. I said a small “Yes.” Everyone cheered and Doo Joon spun me around in happiness.
