WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31 2018 / ALL HALLOW'S EVE.

 

worry settles in the back of her mind as she tears a kit-kat in two and watches the clock. she's got ten minutes left at work, no one's come in since this evening and the day's gone smooth as a cucumber. perhaps giving her sister the okay to come back home wasn't the best idea. conflict between her and the eldest had led to a more strained relationship than they'd had as young teens, but what could she have said? 'no, you can't, goodbye.' ... well...she could've, however that would've been something both their mother and their grandmother disapproved of, and she'd been raised better than that. huffing out a quiet sigh of frustration, she starts to grab her bag and her jacket, calling out to her co-worker to tell her she'd be off seeing as the ten minutes were finally up and she could go home.

 

the drive home was just as uneventful as her day at work, the only upside being she got a text from her boyfriend while at a red light about what her plans would be and if she'd like to go out with him to which she replied excitedly with a yes. maybe her night wouldn't be so bad.

 

oh, how she was wrong.
