Jingle. Jingle.

The school was filled with holiday spirit. It was the last day before winter break would begin.

Out of nowhere, someone appeared between you and Sohee. Zelo was wearing a Santa hat. He dangled the bell with a smile, “Merry Christmas, friends!”

“Merry Christmas, Zelo!” The two of you laughed.

“Are you two doing anything for Christmas?” Zelo asked.

“I’m going on a ski trip with all my aunts and cousins. Ugh, I’ll have to end up babysitting the brats again.” Sohee made a face.

“Sucks.” Zelo nodded in sympathy. His eyes shifted to you, “What about you?”

You shrugged with a smile, “I have no clue yet.” *It depends on Byunghun oppa. Last year’s Christmas was special. My parents were still alive. I wish they were still here to celebrate with us. I wish Sungyeol oppa was here, too. We loved Christmas a lot.*

School was dismissed early. You said goodbye to your friends and headed home.

“Hey, pixie.” Someone called. You turned around.

Zelo ran up to you and smiled, “I heard your nickname was Pixie.”

You flushed, “Yeah. I don’t think it fits me though…”

“What are you talking about? It’s perfect for you.” Zelo said.

“Thanks.” You modestly replied.

“Here. I have something for you.” Zelo opened his backpack. He pulled out a cute penguin knit hat with a long, fluffy end.

Your eyes widened, “What’s that?” “Your Christmas gift.” Zelo pulled it over your head. You blinked in surprise. He moved your bangs to one side and tucked the loose strands in at the right places.

Zelo smiled, happy, “Ah~ very cute. I have good taste!”

You looked up and touched the hat.

Zelo firmly put his hands over your head and brought his forehead against yours. “Have a good winter break, Christmas Pixie.” Your expression softened. Zelo jumped up and waved, “Annyeong~!” He ran off.

A big, warm smile came on your face. “Happy Holidays Zelo.” You touched the furry ball at the end of the hat and giggled. Happy from your first Christmas gift of the ear, you skipped home.

L. Joe came home earlier than usual that night.

“Oppa!” You ran over to greet him. “You’re on vacation now, right?” He asked.

“Yep!” You beamed and nodded. *And yet I won’t be able to keep you company. I’m sorry.* L. Joe thought.

“Oppa, do we have any plans for Christmas this year?” You asked. He blinked, “Plans?”

You nodded, “Last year we went skiing. What about this year? Will we do anything special?” *She’s probably used to going somewhere for winter. But I can’t leave my work.* “I don’t think so…” L. Joe mumbled.

“Oh.” Your shoulders fell in disappointment.

L. Joe noticed that. He thought about it then said, “But on Christmas we can do something together…” You looked at him. “We can go get movie and dinner then watch the annual Christmas Parade at Seoul Central Park. Is that special enough?” L. Joe asked.

You beamed and nodded, “That is very special! I love parades! I can’t wait for Christmas now!”

L. Joe smiled. You were so easy to please.

“I’ll heat up dinner!” You ran into the kitchen.

L. Joe headed to his room to change when he saw the penguin hat. He held it up and wondered where you had gotten this from. “Saerom, did you buy this hat?” 

“Huh?” You poked your head out and shook your head, “Nope! Zelo gave it to me for Christmas!” You went back into the kitchen.

L. Joe’s eyes widened and he whispered, “Zelo…?”

“He’s so nice, don’t you think so, oppa?” You asked aloud from the kitchen.

L. Joe frowned, threw the hat on the ground, and went into his room. *I’ll get her something better than a stupid penguin hat.*
