Life chances

Description

Everyone has that "the one that got away", but what if you were given a second chance. But that wasn't really a chance.

Foreword

They meet in a charity ball. It was a masquerade reunion.

He was dressed in black and she in red. Both of them had a date. They come across each other in the cellar.

"Let's talk. Come over to my place", Sehun said.
"Not sure if I should..", was her reply.
"C'mon. This is not a coincidence. It's fate. How we meet after two years."
"Almost three", she corrected.
"Yes and I won't leave until you agree", he said firmly.
"Now that I think, is it really a good idea? I mean all these years. We should have moved on."
"Have you?"
"Many times over."
"I mean really. Like deep down. Are you finished with me?"

She paused for a bit and then looked up at him and said, "All I know is that seeing you tonight was confusing. And nostalgia can be very dangerous."
"It's not just nostalgia and you know it."

"So what? It's not like anything is going to happen", she shot back in a bitter tone.

He leaned closer and circled his arms round her waist.

She stood there in the comfort of his warmth. But all this was wrong. She thought to herself and released herself from his grip with a slight jerk.
Moving back he ran his hand through his hair at the back of his head. "This is crazy. Overwhelming emotions." He laughed.

After a short silence she said, " I admit, maybe it needed to happen. Like as some unfinished business thing and now... Well is our business finally finished?"

Removing a bang from her face he smelled it. "I can still feel your breath on my neck", he said in an arousing tone.

"Please...", she begged him to stop.
"And your skin, it felt so amazing."
"Stop."

But he continued nevertheless, " And it makes me  wonder why right now you are with some other random guy."

He kissed her cheeks. His ragged breath sent chills through her like a flow of current through a wire.
"It's not right", she tried to resist.

"But it is. Our business is only begining. And I'll try everyday until you give me a real chance", he said.
Tear drops ran down her slightly flushed cheeks.

"Hey. Hey. What's wrong? I won't pester anymore. Hey. I'm sorry. Please don't cry", he said wiping away the tears.

She noded and said in an almost hushed tone, "I think I have to tell you."

"What?", Sehun asked, reflecting surprise in his note.
"That I have leukemia", she said.
