“Veronica? Is that you?”

            You froze upon hearing that familiar voice. Thinking that you could play it off, you ignored him and continued to shop for your snacks in a hurry.

            “Yah, Veronica!” he grabbed you and spun you around.

            You looked at your best friend, “I don’t know who you’re talking about.” You lied.

            “Oh… I’m sorry. You looked like my best friend from behind.” He bowed and went to another aisle as you hurriedly fixed your glasses and went to pay for your stuff.

            As you reached into your bag to get your wallet, your phone rang. ‘Crap,’ you cursed to yourself.

            Chunji smirked and patted your shoulder, “Nice try.”

            He walked into your room as you placed your glasses onto the long table drawer and headed to the bathroom. He examined your room. It was the first time he’s ever been in it even though he’s been to your house plenty of times. Noticing a small box in the corner, Chunji became suspicious and walked closer to it. Next to the box was a crumpled up paper.

            He opened the crumpled picture and was shocked to see you with those nerdy thick-framed glasses, braces, and short black hair. Now even more curious, he bent down on one knee and opened the box to find all of your old pictures.

            You gasped as you walked in, eyes wide open as Chunji stood up, shocked that he was caught snooping around.

            “Veronica, is this you?”

            It was time.

            “Chunji….” You gulped, “My name’s not really Veronica.”
