“Hey, man.” TOP hyung greeted after the third ring. I pace around the room nervously, not knowing what to do anymore. I’ve been holding this for years now and I think I can’t take another day without telling her the truth. This guilt is eating me up inside.

“Hyung, I can’t take this anymore. I lied to her and the guilt is eating me alive.” My voice cracked.

I heard him sigh. “Then tell her. She’s your fiancée now, Jiyong. She has the right to know.”

I stop pacing and stand in front of my desk, my back facing the door. “I know hyung . . . but I’m afraid that when I tell her the truth, she’ll call off the wedding.” I pause, trying my best to erase that thought. “Hyung, how am I going to confess that I cheated on her?”

As if on cue, the sound of breaking glass surrounded the room. My head turned suddenly, my bewildered gaze franticly searching her face. There, she stood. Tears trickling down her beautiful face. My gaze trails down to the mug that smashed into million pieces . . . coffee staining the carpeted floor.

The coffee she has been making especially just for me.

I hung up the phone without saying goodbye to TOP hyung and place it on top of my desk. I take a step towards her but she step back, making me wince. “Babe, it’s not what you think.”

Oh, God. I hate this. I hate seeing her cry. I hate the look in her face. I hate that I made her like this.

“Dara, please. Babe, please let me explain.” I plead and she shook her head. She took another step back and she staggers but manages to get hold of the door. I rush to her but she held her hand up, stopping me from my tracks.

She lifts her head and look at me straight in the eye. Her eyes are full of hurt and betrayal and it’s so ing hard to look at her like this. But I have to fight the urge to look away because I’m the very reason behind all those.

“What’s there to explain, Jiyong? I heard you clearly. . .” More tears staining her cheeks. “You cheated and lied to me. It. . . . It hurts.”
