Junhong hung his head as he grasped onto Youngjae’s unresponsive hand firmly. For the past hour or so, the laddie has been weeping but Youngjae was too drained to comfort him properly. So the injured one lie quietly as he observed the other who was a younger brother to him.

Youngjae’s right eye was sealed shut and bandaged. Fortunately for him, he can’t recollect the pain he has gone under to receive the bruises, bone breaking, and harm Badmen left on him. And barely conscious, he was using all of his strength to stay awake for Junhong. However, the youth spared him no attention and only cried some more.

Self-blaming and hatred were all that the innocent, peaceful Junhong was spewing.

At last, Youngjae took a deep breath to remind Junhong that he was no longer alone. That at least both of them survived whatever task it was that nearly killed them all. In Junhong’s nonstop rambling, he has spilled that Himchan was pronounced dead at the scene outside of Wolf Hound. Daehyun, Yongguk, and Jongup were missing. Daehyun was last captured by CCTV to be kidnapped. Meanwhile, there were traces of Yongguk but officials believed he went into hiding. And then there was Jongup, who had vanished without a clue. Junhong also dropped a bomb that “I don’t know why, too, but the police were looking for Jongup. They kept telling me he’s wanted. That he was mysterious and suspicious. But it was Jongup we were talking about. You know Jongup isn’t that kind of person. He can’t even hurt a mosquito,”

Whenever Youngjae tried to use his brains, his head would begin pounding and beating. So for a while, all he did was listen.

When Junhong finally lifted his head his eyes were red and his face swollen, he breathed out heavily before saying, “I shouldn’t have stopped. When I arrived at HQ, Daehyun was already surrounded,” Junhong’s voice was filled with sadness and remorse, “They took turns beating him...but all I could do was to stand, and watch. My body froze and I couldn’t believe it was really happening. They loaded him up into a black van without a license plate,” there was a long pause as he lowered his head again, “if something bad happened to Daehyun, I can’t forgive myself,” he shook his head in disappointment.

Oddly enough, Daewon came to mind though Youngjae tried to tone out the other world. Or dream. Or—. Youngjae squeezed Junhong’s hand a little, “What happened isn’t your fault nor responsibility. Someone set this up for us to fail and lose. You had no control over what was happening or will happen. You can’t save everyone. If Daehyun is still out there, we’ll find him,”

The younger cleaned his wet face with one hand then he sniffled before asking, “But you don’t believe in fate or destiny,”

Youngjae supposed the past has changed him a little. After running into Daewon, Yonggon, and Himcha Youngjae thought the possibility of fate or destiny do exist. “Is that right?” Youngjae asked weakly, “I suppose this task changed my perspectives on some things,”

“Suicide?!” Junhong asked loudly. Junhong was standing beside Youngjae’s bedside as they faced a set of policemen. As if offended by Junhong’s reaction, one of the officers shot back.

“That’s what I said,”

Junhong’s jaw dropped by the second before asking, “That makes no sense! I told you I was held at gunpoint and Himchan saved me, so how can you—”

The officer sighed, “And I’m telling you I can’t believe what you’re saying. His own bullet was found in his chest and the CCTV around the location didn’t capture any armed group of men like you claimed!”

Speechless, Junhong shoved his bangs back before scoffing, “Then what about my brother here? Can’t you see the state that he’s in? Are you saying all my friends went crazy and became suicidal over-night?!”

The two men couldn’t make up what Youngjae’s thoughts were, but they were stern on believing Himchan had killed himself. “Kid, whether you want to believe it or not. I’m telling you we did an autopsy as you per requested and the results showed he was killed by his own bullet. So why are you denying it? Just accept the truth,”

Junhong scoffed before turning to Youngjae for backup, “I think I’m going to go crazy Youngjae. You were there too when Himchan came in to save us,”

Taken by surprise, the officers looked to Youngjae and softly the other ask
