Joy looks at the clock. It is so late and she has not received any call from Noel. She left around 11p.m. and it is 4 a.m. now. Should she call? What if she will disturb them? She really wants to go to the hospital but her oppa will not like that. At all. She has been up, praying. Her neck and back hurt but she just cannot lie down.

The phone finally rings. She snatches up her cell and answers.

"Hello! Aunty!! How are they doing?!" Joy is breatheless.

Noel sighs heavily and this sends a chill down her spine.

"Mistress Irene...well she has gone through a C-section and has just now being shifted to the cabin. Lost a lot of blood and her pregnancy complications did not make it easy...and the baby..." She sighs sadly again, "The baby did not survive. She was stillborn..."

Joy closes her eyes tightly and tears flow down her cheeks. "Wh-why?...How...?? Oh God!!"

"All we can do now is to pray for Mistress Irene's health and strength for her and Mr. Kim to bear with such sorrow... My heart clenches watching his plight..." She sniffs.

Joy's heart breaks too. She begins to cry...

"Joy..." Noel did not want to call but then the girl would have been too worried. Well, she will definitely hear about the baby, if not now then later..." Listen dear, I know you are sad. I can totally understand but it is something no one has control over...all we can do is think and work for matters that is still present. Don't stress...think about your health and child..."

Joy quivers and nods slowly.

"...Oh! And has Namjoon reached home yet?" Noel sounds more worried.

The question draws her attention and makes her confused, "Namjoon...?" 

"Ummm...he was here till Mistress Irene was brought out of the OT. He just peaked at her without Mr. Seokjin noticing and staggered out of the hospital...I called after him but he did not pay any heed to anything..." 

"He was there?! I didn't know that...Did any of the servants gave him the news? Who will tell him about Irene at such hour?" Joy mumbles out her thoughts.

Noel catches her words and cannot help but snort, "All he need to do is feel .... "

Joy clutches her phone tightly. Another blow at her heart. But does not hurt much like before...may be she is getting used to them...should she...?

"Joy! Hello! Are you till there??" Noel asks.

The young lady snaps out of her thoughts and nods," Yes..."

"I cannot say when I'll be home...But do let me know when Namjoon comes back. He..." Noel does not know what else to say.

"I will..." Joy replies softly and they disconnect the call. She leaves her room to find Butler Joseph and a maid and a servant in the kitchen. Joseph is praying fervently with a rosary and the maid has joined him. They are also informed she guesses...

She just tells them to inform her whenever Namjoon arrives and from their faces it seems they also did not he had left.

She comes back to her room and waits for him... 

It is 6 a.m. now. She is washing her face when the door is knocked. Joy opens it to see Butler Joseph standing with an annoyed face.

"Missus Joy...that Joon- Mr. Namjoon has arrived but he is so drunk..." Before he can finish his sentence Joy has rushed outside.

There she finds Namjoon in a most pitiful condition. He is carried to the threshold. A complete wreck. His face is all flushed, swollen eyes, dark circled. It seems he had been crying for hours. He is heaving loudly and cannot even open his eyes.

"Good morning Ma'am..." The man, who helped to bring him inside with the guard, greets. He is the janitor of Namjoon's office. "I found him when I entered his cabin to clean up. He was all alone with a huge number of alcohol bottles around him. I was quite surprised and did not know what to do so I cleared up his office and brought him here..."

Joy quickly shakes her head, "No! No! Thank you so much!! We were worried..." She looks at Namjoon, " Does anyone know or seen him...in this condition...?"

"The janitor shakes his head, "Oh no Ma'am! There was no one as it is much before the working time...So I called up at your home but the butler said no driver is available..." 

This statement earns a glare from Joy towards Joseph, who looks down...

"...so I got him in a taxi and reached home..." He states.

Joy sighs in relief. She knows how respected Namjoon is to his employees and if they had seen him like this, it would have tarnished his reputation, "You've no idea how much you've helped me...us... One request please don't reveal it to anyone..."

"Of course not ma'am! Do not worry at all. Sir is a nice man and he must be having a low time..." He nods understandingly.

Joy rushes back to her room to get her purse. After a some insists the man takes his reward and leaves.

They carry him upstairs to his bedroom. While walking down the hallway Jimin sees them. He usually wakes up early for his regular jogging and today is no different. Joy is a little embarrassed to see him and so does the young architect...

"Ummm...what has happened?" He asks Butler Joseph hesitately when the guards come down and leaves. 

Joseph snorts, "What else?! The other owner of the house got sloshed in his office last night and the caretaker found him in the morning!! He gave him a lift. Lucky fot the lad, no one saw him!!" The butler grumbles. The old man is much more irritated than his usual self. He got no sleep last night for praying, then got the bad news and now this...

Jimin is quite shocked by Namjoon's such behaviour. He never seemed to be of such careless personality...

"I...I should go and check..." He decides out of politeness and hopes it won't be taken as interference or insolence. 

He knocks on the door which is ajar. At the very moment Joy comes out of the bathroom carrying a towel and a bucket of warm water. She puts the container near the bed.

"Oh Jimin-sshi!!" Joy stands by the door.

"Umm...yes...I am sorry...I just wanted to check if Mr. Kim is fine..." Jimin asks.

"Oh! He is...He just drank a lot...had a rough night... He needs to change and a sponge-bath...he will feel comfortable..."  She mumbles glancing at her husband.

"Do you...need any help? Should I call anyone...?" Jimin offers politely.

"Oh no! Thank you! I can manage..." She smiles a little, nonchalantly.

"Huh?" He blurts out.

Joy looks at him confused. Why does he looks so shocked?

"Yes...don't worry. Thank you once again..." She says nicely with her hand on the door, indicating that she needs to close it.

Jimin steps back and nods slightly to walk downstairs. What is happening in this house? Joy...Mr. Kim...her baby...now this...?!

 He finds Joseph in the lobby dozing off but startles at his presence.

"Sorry...I didn't mean to disturb you..." Jimin says.

"Oh no! It is fine Mr. Park. My sleep is as thin as paper. Well could not sleep last night...The young mistress was admitted to the hospital and the news came that her baby did not survive..." He sighs.

Jimin shakes his head feeling sorry. Who does not know Kim Seokjin and Kim Bae Irene...? "That is so sad..."

"Yep. I am telling you this mansion is cursed...no one can ever be happy here...The former Baes...all be dead before even 45 years old...the ladies who are married to this family also die...The daughters of the family live in misery...even after getting married outside....Death and bad luck lingers in the walls..." He spits. The old man is quite infamous for his rants.

"Well..." Jimin does not know what to say. His mind is still reeling over Joy...

"Even the stray ones are not spared!! Look!! Look at that NamJoon!!..." he shakes his head sadly. "Now that poor soul Joy is dragged into all this..."

The mention of Joy perks his interest. "Joy-sshi...?!"

"Obviously!! You get marry, you get into yer husband's all good and bad things...She marry him!! She doomed!!What a man she got...." He leaves talking to himself, leaving a dumbfounded Jimin behind.
