Seokjin looks at the sleeping lady beside him. He just wants their baby to be born safely. He prays for both his daughter and...wife to be healthy. He sighs with a bit of relief. Tonight Irene has been able to sleep. He can say that the light sleeping pills are working. Well, he hopes so. These 9 months have been hellish for them where it is supposed to be the best time of their lives. Full of excitement, hope, expectations for the future. The legacy of their love. Huh?! Love?! He still remembers the emptiness and the lack of excitement in her when the doctor first confirmed her pregnancy.

He shakes his head. He needs to stop thinking about it. She will be here anytime soon and as her father, he will cherish her forever.

He gets up from the bed and goes downstairs to get something to drink. It is not too late so there are two maids still in the kitchen.

"Hey! Why were you late coming from the Bae Mansion?" One of the maid asks. They have not realized that he is in the kitchen and Seokjin is also not paying attention to them. He is about to take the glass and leave when...

"We had a nice dinner and cake. Mistress Joy is going to be a mother." The other answers.

Seokjin freezes at the spot. His little Joy is going to be a mother?! His baby sister?! She is so grown up already!

"Oh!! That is great! I hope she'll be a little happy now."

"I hope so too. Oh! Don't tell anything to Mistress Irene yet! Noel ajhumma has asked us to not say anything till her delivery."

"Yes. She is right. Now, hopefully all their problems will be gone." They continue with their conversation and Seokjin quietly departs.

He is not unaware of Joy's troubles. He would have forgiven and taken her back if she had turned up at his place. But she did not, so he also hasn't. And now it seems the last few chances are also gone! She will be giving birth to that awful Namjoon's child. That man is obsessed with Irene! He shakes his head and enters his bedroom.

"Jin..." Irene tries to get up and yelps in pain. "It hurts...OH MY GOD!" She grabs her bump and cries.

He runs to her and sees the bed sheet is soaked with fluids...red fluids.

"Irene! Love! Don't worry! Let's go to the hospital! Let me call up the doctor and tell the car to be prepared!" He says hysterically and begins to get everyone up.

Noel winces in her sleep. She checks the clock to see it is around 10 p.m. at night. Who can be calling at this hour?!

"Hello?"

What she hears from the other side wipes away the last fragments of slumber from her eyes.

"What?! When?! I'll go there right away!" She gets up menacingly and puts on a long over-coat over her night gown and takes her purse out. She runs to Joy's room and knocks.

Joy, being the light sleeper, opens the door shortly. She gets worried seeing a very disturbed Noel.

"Wha-"

"Joy. I am leaving for the hospital! Mistress Irene is in labour. They took her to the hospital and things don't look good...There are complications."

"Oh God!" Joy panics.

And Noel slams at herself in her mind. She should have been careful. Joy knows about Irene being a little sick but has no idea about her mental and physical conditions.

"What kind of complications?! Aunty, you did not tell me clearly before! I asked you so many time!" She begans to sob. She may not have favoured her sister-in-law much but she would never want her to suffer. Besides, she loves her oppa and his unborn daughter. She will always want them to be safe.

"Hush...hush...Joy...sweetheart...please, don't cry. Don't stress yourself. It is not good for your baby." She hugs her quickly. "Okay! I shall leave at once." She is walking away when Joy calls out,

"Please keep me updated!!!"

"I will!" She runs out of the mansion.

Joy enters her room and looks at the sleeping bundle on her bed. An unknown restlessness has formed in her heart after listening to Noel. She snorts at herself. How she had fallen asleep thinking about the interaction between Aera and Namjoon and then after a couple of hours, this happened? Namjoon?! Does he know?! How will he...? She washes her face and prays for Irene, the child and everyone.

Noel is walking to and fro in the hospital corridor. She reached just after the Kims. 

It has been 6 hours now and what she has understood from the doctor's words, things are not good for both the child and the mother. She is just praying from the bottom of her heart. Her eyes fall at a familiar silhouette near the end of the corridor.

"You?!" She walks towards the person and recognizes.

Namjoon is standing there. He seems to be hyperventilating. His eyes are bloodshot as if he has been crying for several hours. Hair tousled and clothes out of place. In one word, he looks devastated.

"Aunty! How is she?!" He asks between sobs.

Noel sighs, "The doctors are trying. But it is difficult..." 

Namjoon pulls at his hair and howls, "NO! NO! NO! NOTHING SHOULD HAPPEN TO MY REN! NOTHING!"

He rushes towards the suite when Noel stops him, "WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING?!"  

"I NEED TO BE WITH HER! SHE NEEDS ME! FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! PLEASE UNDERSTAND! I'VE BEEN WAITING HERE FOR 6 WHOLE HOURS! LET ME GO TO HER!" He yells.

Luckily, there is no one, except them, at that part of the floor.

"NO! STOP THIS DISTURBANCE! YOU'LL ONLY ADD TO THE PROBLEMS! HER HUSBAND IS THERE WITH HER! HE IS SUPPORTING AND TAKING CARE OF HER! HE IS THE FATHER!! STOP THIS RIDICULOUS BEHAVIOUR!" Noel grabs his hand tightly and scolds sternly.

"I KNOW HE IS THE FATHER! BUT IRENE, IRENE NEEDS ME NOW! I CAN FEEL IT IN MY BONES, MY VEINS, SHE IS CALLING FOR ME! IF I GO THERE SHE'LL FIGHT BACK! SHE'LL GET BACK HER STRENGTH! YOU KNOW HOW IT IS WITH US! WHY DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN YOUR CONNECTION TO YOU?! YOU KNOW EVERTHING!" He again tries to move towards the room but is stopped by Noel.

"PLEASE. Don't. She is unconscious and has lost a lot of blood. If you go there, there will be a ruckus and this is a hospital. Please don't make this so toxic! PLEASE." She literally begs him to stay outside.

"Okay but I am staying here! At least, she'll feel my presence...I think that will help her." With that statement, he sits on the floor of infront of the cabin and stares intently at the door.

Noel shakes her head hopelessly. To think Cheonsa and Joy hope that this guy will ever have any place for Joy and the baby in his heart and life?!

"How did you know she is in hospital? How did you get into this VIP part?" She asks quietly after sometimes.

"I felt a tremour in my bones and then my heart began to beat really fast. You know the kind of feeling I always get when MY IRENE is in trouble? That! Exactly that! I felt such tremours many times a day these four years but tonight's one made me feel nauseous and dizzy so I immediately peeked outside the window to see they were taking her in the car. Her face...so blue and she was crying and yelling in pain...I am sure..." He cries in his hands. "I've gained enough browny points to get into this VIP part easily...Besides for MY REN I can get into hell or heaven."  

Again he is proving her right.

"So, you came here before me? You did not tell anyone." She frowns.

"Tell anyone?! Who...why?" Namjoon looks at her irritated and confused.

Noel is about to mention Joy but then smirks sarcastically and shakes her head. "No one."

Namjoon is not paying attention to anything. He just wants his Irene back.

They can hear some movement behind the closed door and Noel urges Namjoon to hide. Obviously asking him to leave will be fruitless and chaotic.

Seokjin comes outside with the doctor. His face is as white as paper. He looks numb and...dead.

An ominous fear errupts in Noel's heart. Something very bad has happened.

"Doctor, what happened?! Are the mother and baby alright?!" From the corner of her eyes she can see the quivering figure of Namjoon.

"Well, I am sorry to say...the baby is no more." The doctor sighs.

Seokjin drops on the floor in despair and begins to cry. Noel quickly puts her arm around the young man and sobs. She looks at Namjoon hiding behind the wall, with his hand tightly closed on his mouth, trying to bite back the sound of his lamentation.

"The baby had already died in her womb, we were just waiting for her BP to get low so that we could go through a C-section. Now that it is, we are gonna immediately operate on her." The doctor excuses herself and goes away to prepare for the operation.

She quickly gathers the broken young man and makes him sit on one of the seats.

"I know my boy. I don't have any consolation for you. But you've to be strong for Irene! She has lost her child. She will be very vulnerable, physically and mentally. You've to be her pillar, You two have to heal each other! Cuz no one can understand what you two are going through except for yourself and her! I know how rude and cruel I sound but there is no other way. Whatever happened, it was God's will and we've to accept it no matter how difficult it is!" She wipes his tears.

"Son...you have to be strong..." She hugs Seokjin whose tears do not cease and she looks at Namjoon who has fallen on the floor and still clutching his face to cease any sounds. Noel prays for both the men cause they have been hurt badly today.
