"Namy!! Please complete my assignments!! I am so sleepy!!" 20 years old Irene yawns and rubs her eyes. She has a lot of homeworks pending but she has been busy with their university's annual football match. This year she challenged herself to be the new team captain.

"What?! You've not done your assignments yet?! You'd time for that!!" Noel shakes her head disapprovingly.

"I had to practice!!" She defends herself.

"But your practice time is scheduled which does not mix up with your study-time!" Noel frowns.

"Yes. But I have to be the best!! I am the Star !!!" She exclaims proudly, putting her arm around Namjoon's shoulder, "Namy!! Don't you think winning the tournament for the university is more important!! If I won't do it then who'll take responsibility?! Who?! Tell me who?!" She dramatically sighs, covers her eyes and hides her face in his shoulder.

Namjoon laughs at his bestfriend's antics, "Alright. Alright. I'll do your assignments..."

Irene squeals and hugs him tight, "Thank you!! Tomorrow I can practice more!! I just need to submit 'em and get the attendances!! Kyaaahhh!!!Namy you're a sweetheart!! My sweetheart!!" She jumps happily and runs to her room.

Namjoon looks back at her and smiles to himself. He takes one of her textbook when Noel stops him," Are you crazy? There are three assignments!! And you have an assignment of your own!! When are you gonna finish that?!" She is gradually getting vexed with Irene's careless and Namjoon's overcaring and selfless traits. 

Namjoon just shrugs. "I've already done most of my assignment. Just need to revise it and correct the mistakes. If there are any..." He begins to go through the the pages.

"But you are not even an arts' student!! You are in business management and now to get her works done you'll study all these things!! And you've been working on your schoolworks for hours now!! You need to rest..." Noel is looking at him coldly.

But her stern gaze does not affect him.

"This is more important!! So what I've to study more things for her?! You know it is nothing..." He snorts.

Noel sighs sadly,"You always do that!! From the very first day of school you are always helping her, doing her works if she can't, watching out for her, getting punished in her place...She has taken you for granted..." She feels so sorry for this young man who has dedicated his life for her young mistress.

"And what's wrong in that?..."  He smiles dreamily and starts to research about her courses.    

Eleven years old Joy is looking around the large area surrounding their new home. It is more like a palace. So huge, so many furnitures, elegant and expensive, so many servants, and so much cold even if they turn on the central heater. Her father is away for some business...again and her elder brother is at his basketball practice.  Her step-mother, well...she has her special visitor in her bedroom so she is very occupied. Their governess is concerned enough to always send her out during their 'meeting'. But Little Joy understands something is going on in there. Whenever the man comes, Lady Kim jumps into his arms and they move to her bedroom. She sometimes wonder what they do inside for so long...

She has nothing better to do now except roam around the area and find something nice to play with...

She walks towards the left boundary when she hears two thudding sounds and hushed voices. She tiptoes towards the direction to discover two boys trying to climb the pear tree!! That tree has the best pear ever!!

"Hey You two naughty boys!! What are you doing?! Thieves!!! Thieves!!!Thie..." The taller boy rushes towards her and cups with his hand.

"Shushhh!!! Keep quiet you silly little girl!!" He hisses harshly. "Irene!! Go!! Quick!!" He urgently tells his accomplice.

The shorter boy, for now Joy realizes, is a girl, quickly gathers the pears and tries to climb up the wall when the guards along with Kim Seokjin appear there. 

Seokjin snatches his sister out of the boy's hands and hides her protectively behind him. The guards catches him.

"You are that insolent boy at school, right?! Kim Namjoon?!" He sneers.

Namjoon struggles in the hold and snorts.

"Leave him now!!" His 'mate' yells.

Seokjin has not noticed her presence before. He looks at her in awe and Joy can see the red hue rising on the 16 years old boy's cheeks and neck.

"Bae Joo-Joohyun...You..."He stammers.

Joy cannot understand why his brother's demeanor has changed so suddenly. Why is he behaving like this?! So awkward and shy?! He has never behaved like that before...

"Yes I am!! Now tell your guards to leave Namjoon!!!" She shouts.

Seokjin does what she said.

Namjoon rubs his shoulder and Irene worriedly asks him if he is fine. He nods.

"Look this house has been empty for years now so we have been eating the delicious fruits that grows here!! We did not know it was your house!! Hell we didn't even know that it has dwellers now!!" She explains.

Joy looks weirdly at her. Of course this Irene must have known. Their arrival has been with such pomp that the newspaper even printed the news that they have moved in this area. Besides who has not seen those gigantic lorries and trucks that were loaded with their things!!

She looks at the boy Namjoon who is glancing at the girl Irene and rolling his eyes in annoyance. It confirms her suspicion that this girl is lying about not knowing that they have moved here and also by the look on his face it seems it was her idea to steal.

"Oh...that is okay...It-it hap-pens...' Seokjin clears his throat bashfully.

Joy looks at her brother in surprise. He believed her?!...

"Okay so let us go now...We'll not come like this again and please, please don't tell to any elders..." She pleads.

Joy is about to say something but is cut off by her brother.

"Oh sure. Mistakes happen...see...see you...in sch- school..." He blushes looking down.

Joy notices the boy, Namjoon looks at her brother venomously and sneers at her before they easily climb out of the wall.

The girl turns her head to ask her brother why he did that when she notices her brother standing there with a foolish grin on his face.

"Oppa? Oppa?!" She shakes her brother.

Seokjin snaps back to his senses and looks at her sheepishly. "What?"

"Why did you let them go? Do you know them??" She frowns and pouts thinking about those juicy pears. Yes. They took those with them!!

"Yes...She is in school with me...same standard..." He sighs contently and then frowns angrily, "Also that boy with her...He is always with her..." He tells the last part more to himself.

"Oh... they are 16 years old like you?" She asks walking inside.

It seems the man has left.

"Yes..." He answers and runs to his bedroom to get out of his sweaty and dirty sports attire. Irene has seen him in that condition!! How embarassing!! But then again she and that arrogant and insolent lad are also like this most of the time...

Joy looks at Seokjin's running figure and shrugs. She skips to her bedroom and begins her homework. She studies in a prominent all girls' school so that she could be kept away from the limelight. Though it is not helping much. They all know how she is related to the Kims and even if they don't say anything on her face, she can understand  the indirect taunts and gossips...She is old enough now. Her academic abilities are not praise-worthy either. 

She looks at her pretty clean dress and sighs. How she wished she can run around in jeans and t-shirts like that girl Irene!! But then again she has to lie like her and get herself and other persons like that boy Namjoon into trouble!! 

She did not like them. At all. She knows she will have to meet them at social gatherings because  their families will invite each other according to social customs. But she wishes she does not have to interact with them ...she should stay away from them forever...They are nothing but nuisance and danger...

21 years old Joy is standing in rain, waiting for her car. Why on earth did she agree for this stupid blind date?! She wonders if all rich people are such jerks or the guys her brother and sister-in-law want to set her up are...

That man was so boastful!! It was as if he was doing her a favour stepping out of his home to meet her. He even made improper jokes about her lineage!!! 

She wipes her tears. He drove her to this restaurant and then left feeling 'insulted' when she objected to his ill manners with the waiters. Now she is stuck here. She takes out her phone to call the driver but there is no network.

It is raining so much that she cannot clearly see things some feet away from her. Suddenly a very flashy car halts infront of her.

She gets frightened with the most familiar ominous feeling and is about to walk away when the window is lowered...

"Hello...recognized me?" Namjoon smirks at Joy.

She blinks few times. Yes she can remember him. He used to live with Irene unnie's family when suddenly he disappeared few months before her wedding with Seokjin. Now he is back as a very successful businessman and has just bought a fair portion of the Bae mansion...and his name is...

"Kim Namjoon?" She asks.

He hums, "Yes...would you like to converse here or get in the car. I am surely going your home's way..."

She wants to decline but seeing the rain, it seems the driver won't be able to get to this side of the town...Also it's so late...But she does not even know him...

"Trust me...You'll reach home safe and sound..." He assures.

She sighs. What would he do to her knowing who she is?

She gets in the car.

"So how are you?" Namjoon begins the conversation after minutes of awkward silence.

After some small talk she begins to feel a bit comfortable. Gradually their conversation comes to the incidents of the late evening.

"Well you did the right thing! He should know his manners..." Namjoon agrees with her.

"I hope now oppa will understand."

The rest of the way is pleasant and she reaches home though late but safe.

"Thank you so much..." She says gratefully.

"Oh It is nothing. Help thy neighbour..." He smiles," Oh! Can I have your number? Well It is not hard for me to collect but it looks bad without your permission...I had a good time talking to you tonight...I  hope we can catch up soon...It is nice to talk to someone who thinks like you..."He sighs.

Joy recalls his hard childhood and feels a bit sad. "There you go..." They exchange their numbers.

Namjoon is now sitting on his bed in his new bedroom...

He looks at the name and number saved as Park SooYoung and smirks, " Well...that was easy..."
