"Byul, now that everything's settled, what do you want to do?"

Said girl silently stared out the window of her new bedroom in the Kim mansion.  Key sighed as he layed on Byul's new fluffy bed and turned to their father, who was standing at the doorway.

"We still haven't found her grandmother.  She kind of lost her in a crowd on the Seoul streets and out from the lack of nutrition, which was how me and my friends found her one night.  Byul even gave her shoes to a hobo on the streets!"  Key explained with slight enthusiasm over what Byul had told him before.

Their father nodded and leaned against the door frame.  "Okay, so we're searching for Mrs. Wang in Daegu and Seoul, got it.  I'll tell my search crew right away," he informed his children.  Byul silently nodded, still not removing her gaze away from the window.

Key sighed again seeing Byul's non-responsive form.  "Byul, you miss her, huh?"

This time, she turned slightly to Key, who was still on her bed.  "......how can I miss someone who I don't even remember much.....?  I didn't even remember how my father looked like and there he is...."  she gestured to the said man, who smiled at her sadly.  He walked into the room and strode towards his daughter, hugging her from behind.

"I'm so sorry, Byul...... I should be responsible.  I didn't protect your mother from.... her....."  He grimaced as thinking about his legal wife gave him recent bad memories.  Key noticed the expression on their father's face and got up from the bed to hug his family.

"You did what you had to do, appa.  She was always a , anyways, and that's coming from the mouth of her biological son,"  he muttered under his breath.  Mr. Kim couldn't help but chuckle and nod in agreement.  "I'm sorry for not believing you, son.  I'm glad now that I divorced her and she's in prison for murder.  She won't hurt you or Byul anymore..."  His children nodded and smiled a bit as they hugged each other in comfort.

Unfortunately, their family reunion moment was ruined by a small group of people who bursted in through the door.

"KEY UMMA~!  JINKI HYUNG RAIDED THE FRIDGE DOWNSTAIRS AND THE MAIDS ARE IN A PANIC!  HE FOUGHT ALL THE BUTLERS FOR CHICKEN!"  Taemin cried out in fear, jumping on Byul's new bed.  Key didn't miss the banana milk carton he was sipping into.

He sighed in irritation as Byul and their father pulled away from the family embrace.  "Wait.....how did you guys get in here?"

"We jumped over the fence and picked the lock like how you taught us."  Mr. Kim gave Key a stern look after Minho spoke aloud.

"Dammit, Minho!  Not in front of my father!"  he hissed at the tall giant, who simply grinned and left the room.  Everyone could hear Onew screaming downstairs for some fried chicken.

Key turned to his father and mouthed, "Your fault for hiring him," as the latter sighed and slowly went downstairs to console Onew.  Key then turned to Jonghyun, who smiled at him and held a peace sign out.  "Now what the hell are you doing."  he demanded rather than ask.

"I.....want to take my angel out?  On a proper date?"  Jonghyun asked cheekily, but Key could tell that his best friend was nervous by the way he kept clamping his hands in a fist and let go, continuing that action in a repeated motion along his sides.  He sighed as he gave up.

"Fine, BUT I DON'T WANT TO FIND OUT WEEKS LATER THAT SHE'S PREGNANT."  Key said gritting his teeth a bit, emphasizing his worst fear.  "Don't make me regret this decision."

Jonghyun smiled and nodded happily and took Byul's hand in his, who was also grinning from ear to ear as she followed him out the room.  Only Taemin was left, slurping the last liquid in his banana milk carton.  Once he was done, he gave it to Key, who threw it in the small trash can across the room.

"Hyung, ever since Byul entered our lives, we've stopped stealing and making fights,"  Taemin couldn't help but say what he noticed.  "She each taught us different things which changed us.  Jinki hyung now acknowledges his identity and finally settled as a medical major, not afraid of using his name.  Minho hyung no longer gets in trouble at school and he's finally accepted into all the teams that each sports club offered a spot for him in, resulting him to be the best soccer player with an even better scholarship."

Key couldn't help but smile at Taemin.  "And don't forget she taught you how to be brave."  He ruffled the younger boy's blonde hair.  "She also taught me what it's like to be a family again."  He smiled earnestly and sat down beside him on the bed.

Taemin couldn't help but wonder aloud.  "I wonder what Byul taught Jjong hyung....."

Jonghyun led Byul to an open mic bar, where everyone eats while random people get to entertain the folks with anything they say or do onstage.  He slid a chair out for Byul and led her to sit before sitting down on his own chair.  As they ordered 2 drinks of Milo and a plate of salmon steak, Jonghyun began to talk about his passion of music with her.  Byul was fascinated at how Jonghyun became lively as he gave out his opinion to each genre of music he's learned about in school before dropping out.

The food came and Jonghyun suggested to share his order with Byul.  The latter eventually caved in and let Jonghyun feed him like he wanted to.  Half the girls at the bar kept glancing at the young girl with envy as Jonghyun had fun with feeding her and vice versa, much to his delight.

During dessert with a plate of cheesecake, Jonghyun continued his rambling of music, and this time the topic was on different languages.  Byul found him as an interesting person to converse with.

"I think I prefer English & Chinese pop music rather than the general Japanese rock that everyone craves internationally,"  he rambled on, "I mean the way that everyone conforms to it when they don't even know the language and know what the song means, isn't it a little bit farfetched to say what is cool and what isn't?  They all say that pop music is all trash and gay, but really, the trashed up songs are the ones that have no meaning to their lyrics."

"I agree.  In my opinion, music is a way of expressing emotions.  But lately there's been general songs about the random dirty stuff in life that sometimes we don't really need to sing about.  And - "  Suddenly Byul bursted out in laughter.  Jonghyun looked at her weirdly.  "What's so funny?"

She calmed down a bit and replied, "I only asked about what type of language you like to listen to in music, and we ended up discussing how music is getting trashed lately in society around the world."

Jonghyun smiled and held her hand, causing her to blush crimson red.  "I feel like this is fate for us to meet."  He admitted to Byul.

"Why is it fate?"

He chuckled and swipe his thumb carefully over the back of Byul's hand, caressing the soft skin.  "Think about it.  You just happened to be lost in Seoul, and my friends and I just happened to find you and take care of you.  To top it off, it turns out you're Key's half-sister and that you share the same father.  If Key was never my best friend when we were kids in school, you & I would never have met...."

Byul smiled and kissed Jonghyun's hand that was entwined with hers.  He blushed in response and smiled sheepishly.

"Oppa~!"

Both people broke their gazes towards each other and turned to a lady who clung onto Jonghyun's free arm.  Byul noticed the frown on Jonghyun's face as he saw the clingy lady in a revealing red dress.  A second later, it turned into a forced smile.  "Hey~ Nina!"

(A/N:  I'll be using Yoo Nina for this chapter instead of Shin Sekyung.  Please do not misunderstand.  I am not an antifan of anything; I simply dislike them.  But this particular "scandal" with Nina, in my opinion, is getting out of hand.  Both Nina & her antifans are in the wrong as this situation worsens.  Overall, all I'm saying is that I am using her as a random character in this story.  Please don't comment here saying how much you hate her or something.  Go ramble somewhere else for that.)

Byul tilted her head and smiled shyly at the girl called 'Nina'.  Nina glanced at her and her smile twitched upon the hand contact.  "Oppa, who is this?"

Jonghyun quickly diverted his attention back to his date and grinned.  "This lovely lady is my date!  Her name is Kim Byul and she's Key's sister!" he proudly introduced her to Nina.  "Ah, Byul, this is Yoo Nina.  She's - "

" - his ex-girlfriend."  Nina finished for him and smiled charismatically, shaking Byul's free hand.  "You must be his next 'catch' then."  she commented in amusement.

Jonghyun groaned and slightly pushed Nina away.  "Nina, shouldn't you be somewhere else?  No offense, but we're kind of busy here...." he muttered bitterly.

Nina pouted and crossed her arms over her chest.  "But I wanted to hear you play~!"  she whined cutely and stomped her foot.  Byul simply stared at her actions, confused to whether laugh or feel disgusted.

"Let's go."  Before she knew it, Byul was pulled towards the front doors of the bar and was outside with Jonghyun gripping her arm.  "Puppy?" she couldn't help but squeak in shock.

Jonghyun stopped walking fast and turned to look at Byul with concern.  He sighed and held her hand in his, kissing it softly.  "Listen to me, she's not my 'ex'.  We were never together, okay?  Sure, I may have been with a few girls in the past, but never with her." he reassured her.

"WHAT?!  SHE WAS THERE AGAIN?!"

Jonghyun groaned and covered himself in his new bedroom sheets.  Even though Mr. Kim bought the flat in Itaewon for mementos, he encouraged Key's friends to live in his mansion, which has many single rooms with their own personal bathroom and closet space.  Everyone jumped in at the opportunity, especially since the mansion was closer to school than the flat in Itaewon.

Speaking of Key, he growled and jumped onto Jonghyun's big fluffy bed, with Jonghyun still wrapped up inside his blankets.  He sighed and turned to his best friend.  "Jjong, when are you ever going to play or sing music again?  You have so much potential talent...."

"Key, we've been through this before.  I can't - "

"You can't do it because your last girlfriend broke your heart.  Yeah, I get it.  But you're dating my sister now."  Key reminded him.  "Now tell me straight up - how much do you like Byul?"

Jonghyun sat up quickly and thought about it for a long moment, with Key impatiently tapping his foot on the ground as he continued to sit on the edge of Jonghyun's bed.  "I.....I don't like her....." Jonghyun said at last.

Key grew furious and opened his mouth, about to swear profanities at him.

"......because I love her."

Key's jaw was wide open as he stared in shock.  He quickly snapped out of it and slapped the back of Jonghyun's head.  "Well if you love her, you idiot, show how much you love her!"  He scolded him before quickly leaving the bedroom.

Jonghyun watched Key leave then think to himself.  Music is a way of expressing emotions.....

Meanwhile, Key stopped at the end of the hallway to his bedroom and smirked to himself.  I guess now I know what Byul taught that dinosaur.

Another night at the bar for entertainment time gave Jonghyun the chance to confess.  He led Byul to the front tables near the stage and ate with her for a bit before mysteriously disappearing, but right before he did he told her he'd be back to show her something.

Byul was clueless with how he'd confess - she only came because Key forced her to flaunt his new design, which was another red traditional dress that was decorated in a modern style.  Almost every guy stared at her in the bar, causing her to shiver slightly, even though she was wearing Jonghyun's navy green jacket.  She also wore her black converse sneakers so she wouldn't trip in heels walking to the bar.  After all, it was a good far distance away from the mansion.

Suddenly, the lights dimmed and Jonghyun came out in his regular outfit (which made Byul jealous that he wasn't forced in an outfit).  He smiled and held on a mic.  Her eyes widened in surprise as he stood close to her, gazing at her with a smile.  Suddenly the music started and he started singing.  He was only singing, but it was an improvement to before.

It wasn't a slow song, but it gave Byul a feeling deep inside her heart.  She never how talented Jonghyun was until this moment.  Suddenly she remembered one of their conversations the night before...

"Around 5 years ago, there was this girl who I had a crush on, and she eventually became my girlfriend.  I gave her everything I had, but in the end she cheated on me, and I was a stupid fool for being blind.  There were so many signs, and I mostly dedicated all my music to her.  When she broke up with me,  which was 3 years ago, she kept telling me my voice was annoying and that I don't sing well like her new boyfriend.  I took pride in my music, so it was a blow for me when she said that.  I thought I was in love with her at the time and I felt lost without her, so I stopped playing and singing music so I wouldn't feel pain."

When Jonghyun was done performing, everyone clapped for an encore.  He smiled at everyone, then turned to Byul.  He spoke to her over the mic.

"Kim Byul, I love you.  Will you be my girlfriend?"

Everyone gasped as Byul's eyes widened even more.  There was silence, then a smile crept onto her face.  She nodded and flung herself to the stage, in the arms of her new boyfriend.  Everyone at the bar cheered for joy.

Well, everyone except for Yoo Nina.  She glared at the new couple and clutched something inside her bag.  She grinned evilly and slowly pulled out the object, pointing it at Byul's head.  "If I can't have Jjongie to myself, then NO ONE can."

Key secretly hid amongst the crowd in low-key disguise so his friend and sister wouldn't recognize her.  He grinned at the accomplishment and now felt proud of Jonghyun.  However, he noticed a familiar creepy lady with a pistol in her hands, aiming it right at his sister's head.  His eyes widened and he gasped, immediately bolting from his seat to run towards the stage.

"BYUL!  JJONG!  LOOK OUT!"

Jonghyun & Byul looked up in time to see Nina with something in her hands, but it was too late.  She pulled the trigger.

BANG!

Key grabbed Byul just in time and fell with her to the floor of the stage.  Everyone in the bar was in a panic as the owner of the bar plus a couple of bodyguards took Nina and held her as one of the customers contacted the police and ambulance.

"BYUL!  KEY!"  Jonghyun cried out as he bent down to his two favorite people.  He checked if Byul was hit, then found no wounds on her back area.

So that means..... oh my God......

He turned to Key, whose back was bleeding from the gunshot wound.  Byul fainted from the sudden shock and impact from her head, which hit the stage ground.

This can't be happening....!
