It was all it took for him to have that wide smile on his face. He can hear the tiredness from her voice and it doesn’t help that they are both busy with their schedules. They were both made aware that the upcoming months will be very difficult. Neither the two of them can take care of each other. There were times that they can only see each other through video calls and not even get to hold each other for a week and sometimes more.

A lot of times both will come home to an empty house and sleep in a cold bed. Alone.

“Oppa”

And that’s when he noticed that she’s crying

“Joohyunah, wae?”

“Oppa I just miss you so much” she sniffed trying to suppress sobbing as she was still on the set of her drama and just waiting for her turn.

He closed his eyes and tilted his head back while gripping his phone tighter “I couldn’t miss you more Hyunah”

Even though Joohyun felt bad that she’s making their situation harder than it already is, she can’t help it, she cried earlier when she missed him by a mere five minutes. They ran late for the shoot and he tried to wait for her just to say goodbye, but his plane will leave him so he had to go.

Joohyun slumped on the floor of their apartment and cried her heart out. Even when they think that they have already mastered this kind of set up, there will always be times that it seems like it’s impossible to pull through.And she’s having one of those times.

“I’m sorry oppa, I know I’m not making it easier”

“I love you Seo Joohyun.. I love you more than anything in this world, I just need one word from you and I can make all these hardships go away”

She smiled. She knew what Yonghwa was talking about. They’ve talked about it, they’ll expose everything as soon as Joohyun is ready. The ball is now in her court, she gets to call the shots.  One word and they’ll reveal everything, and get married and move somewhere to start their family.

“Just a bit more oppa, I’m still okay sticking with the original plan” 

He chuckled “I’ll marry you anytime, anywhere and anyway Hyunah, you know that but for now… did you bring Ppoppo?”

She giggled and shook her head as if he can see her” No oppa, you know how hyper active Ppoppo is, Dubu was shy but Ppoppo? I don’t think so, the director will definitely scold me”

He sighed as he slouched on his seat “will you finish early today?”

Joohyun looked out her the window  “ I hope not, I just want to go home and sleep”

“Eat okay? I swear Joohyunah you look so thin on your pictures”

“but I’m healthy oppa”

“I know that too but still. EAT. Araaseo?”

“Ne.”

“I have to go, Hyun, we’ll start rehearsal in 10 minutes”

“Go oppa, I miss you and I love you”

“I love you more Hyun, I’ll see you in a week”

“I love you oppa”

“I love you Hyun”

“I love you oppa”

He laughed “This will never end huh?”

“Nope, so you hang up first” her laughter is heaven sent, ringing in his ears

“Not before you do”

“Seo Joohyun!”

“Jung Yonghwa!”

“Hyunaaaa!” he whined

“Fine I’ll hang up now oppa, rehearse, eat, and rest okay?”

“You two yeobo”

And it took another round of I’ love you’s before they hang up. He found himself staring at his reflection in his dressing room mirror until his manager peeked and called him.

He will be in Fukuoka for three days and will head straight to filming for Island Musketeers for the next 5 days after that. It’s more than week before they’ll see each other again.
