“PLEASE! he begged. Please give me a chance to be born again, to meet that woman again, to love her again’. He grovelled in front of the almighty. Silent tears flowing from his eyes.

He was wearing a long white cloak with intricate golden threads woven into it, it looked old and worn. His hair dishevelled, fingers with dried blood on it and eyes cloudy from the tears he continuously shed, he was completely in mercy of the god.

“Oh, you compassionate one, please!” he begged again.

Years had passed and seasons had passed. The god had probably forgotten him, he thought. He was one among the thousands that begged the god to forgive their sins that they committed during their human life. The god never showed up. Many grew tired and gave up as a result.

But he would never give up. For he knew god. He had witnessed his mercy. He was once allowed to go back earth to meet that woman again. God will forgive me, He thought. And with fresh determination, he begged again.

A pale white butterfly caught his eye. It was the most beautiful thing that he witnessed in these many years since he started pleading to god. It was flying towards him. And he bowed down to the approaching butterfly.

With joy emanating from him and fresh tears flowing, he whispered, ‘Sun ah!’
