This was not a situation they taught in Best Friend 101, so Jongin spent the rest of the week completely ignoring the topic and avoiding anything to do with Minseok because he felt completely awkward. All he knew was that Chaeyeon didn’t really seem affected by it, but Jongin was still worried that Minseok was playing with her.
So one day he just blurts it out, “Did you lose something?”
Chaeyeon frowned, sitting back on the palms of her hands and thinking, “I don’t think so. Do I have an exam that I’m forgetting about?”
She checked through her calendar, and Jongin wanted to slam his head against the coffee table, “Your keys? Your food? Your ity?”
Chaeyeon laughed at that, “Why would I be missing the third one?”
“I don’t know. Minseok left in the morning last weekend, and the place looked like a mess when I came in—”
“Minseok slept on the couch because he was too lazy to go back, and he said that he sleepwalks and destroys stuff in his sleep,” she shrugged. “He also thought it would be funny to tickle me right before he left, which is why I looked like a mess.” She reached over, pinching Jongin’s cheeks and fake cooing, “Were you worried about me?”
“No,” Jongin lied, but they both knew that he wasn’t telling the truth and they burst into laughter. “I was just making sure he wasn’t playing around, that’s all. Why did you text me not to come over?”
