It wasn’t surprising that Kyungsoo’s confession was simple, straightforward, and to the point. It also wasn’t surprising that Chaeyeon accepted. Or at least, it wasn’t surprising until they acted like nothing was different between them.
Needless to say, Jongin was confused.
He saw the subtle glances that Kyungsoo sent her way, but from Chaeyeon? Nothing. Everything was pretty much the same.
And then he remembered how Chaeyeon had convinced him to accept Kim Sungmin’s confession even though he didn’t necessarily return the feelings. Her exact words, if he could remember them correctly, were, “Why not give it a shot?”
So when Kyungsoo is late to meet up after school, he turned to her with a deep, “So.”
“So?”
“Kyungsoo.”
“What about him?” She blinked back innocently, and then someone bumped into her back, pushing her into Jongin, who caught her without a second thought. She brushed off her uniform with an easy, “Thanks. What were you saying?”
“Never mind.”
She pursed her lips slightly, and all that came to his mind was how she didn’t look that lost anymore. Kyungsoo would draw her maps if she wanted him to. All she had to do was ask.
But this was Lim Chaeyeon. She didn’t ask for anything from others, except for maybe more green onion pancakes. And h
