We all like to believe that we are the heroes of our own stories. We like to believe we are good. We might falter, but ultimately we stand for what is right. That much is clear. That much is sure. But, there has to be some antagonists, right? Just turn on the news and you’ll see, the world can sometimes be a cruel and unkind place. Every villain starts off like any other person, believing they are a hero. All it takes is one moment for everything to change; for one person's world to become unrecognizable, causing them to stumble down a dark path. 

Enter Myoui Mina, the protagonist of this story. She lived in a nice house. She attended a private boarding school and received an excellent education. She got good grades—no, the best grades—in her class. She had a boyfriend, a boy with as bright of a future as hers. Most importantly, she was happy. Or, at least she liked to believe so. She certainly had nothing to complain about. However, sometimes when she was alone with only her own thoughts to comfort her, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of longing. It was almost as if something was missing. What was missing, she’d never know for sure, and that uncertainty ate at her, causing her to fall asleep with tears sliding down her cheeks without explanation night after night.

Her future was unfolding according to plan without a day out of place. There wasn’t one event she was unprepared for, even missteps that were bound to happen were accounted for in the plan for the future. But, life can be a funny thing, as we all know, and something even Mina couldn’t anticipate was about to change everything and shoot her life forward in a direction she never intended on following. Like it or not, this was her life now. A life involving government conspiracies and people with powers beyond imagination. People who could manipulate time, disappear, even lift a car with only their mind. This was about to become the new normal for her. Things were about to change for Myoui Mina, drastically. And it all started with a single wish.
