Chapter 31
One year of TaeminSlowly things started to work out ok. I was busy, but Jen made herself busy with her job, she began to hang out a lot with Jonghyun who we were still living with in the dorms, but I didn’t mind at all. Jonghyun was probably the person I was closest to in the group and I found it sweet how he looked after her like a little sister, listened to her like a big sister and like he teased me. She gave him back everything she got and I was impressed that she didn’t cower to his teasing.
In November after we had had months of shows, promotions, another come back I was exhausted and if I was honest I was missing my girlfriend. She didn’t come to everything any more but she came to most things, however I still didn’t have much time with her and I felt some of the security guys we travelled with knew her better than I did.
So, when I had a week free I asked her if she wanted to do something I had always wanted to do.
‘Norway?’ she repeated to me.
‘Yeah, SNOW!’ I said excitedly. I always wanted to go to the north pole and I wanted to go with her.
‘Snow?’ She asked me frowning. She was cooking in the kitchen as I was hovering by the door.
‘Yeah, I love snow. I checked with the managers and they said it’s ok. I will be working crazy up till Christmas after this. Come on, don’t you want to go skiing with me?’ I made my way over to her and put my arms around her waist.
‘Taemin, get off I’m cooking.’ She sighed.
‘What’s up with you?’ I asked her surprised at her tone.
She didn’t immediately answer me, telling me something was wrong. She turned off the stove and looked at me, rubbing her eyes.
‘I’m just tired,’ She mumbled turning back and serving the food onto the plates.
‘So, let’s go to Norway.’ I complained.
‘I can’t ski’ she mumbled half to herself averting her eyes.
I scoffed at her. She turned around shoving the plate of food at me looking annoyed.
I straightened my face when I saw how irritated she looked.
‘Come on it doesn’t matter if you can’t ski, I’ll teach you.’ We sat down at the table and she raised an eyebrow at me. She was obviously dubious of my expert skiing skills. I wasn’t known for being careful.
I put my chop sticks down and reached out for her hand.
‘It will be really romantic, there’s a cabin we can stay in, it has a glass roof, like sleeping under the stars, and if you hurt yourself skiing, I’ll look after you.’ I said earnestly kissing her hand.
She succumbed to my begging and smiled up at me at last.
‘Ok, let’s go to Norway.’ She grinned.
‘Yahhhhhh!’ I cheered. I was happy. I missed her. I wanted this to be a meaningful trip for us and it was a very different kind of vacation from when we met.
She giggled at my childishness and looked at me for a while as I began to eat my way through the food she had made me.
‘Why are you staring at me and not eating?’ I asked her with a mouth full of fo
