Red Like Blood, Blue Like Bruises
Description
Kwon Jiyong is a Red. Lee Seungri is a Blue. Enemies by design, lovers by destiny. Fated to be apart, but Jiyong was never one to follow the rules. And Youngbae? Well, what he doesn't know won't hurt him.
Foreword
The two gangsters stared each other down, cracking their knuckles subconsciously in an attempt to intimidate their rival. Each man had about 10 followers behind him, all with some sort of makeshift weapon, be it a baseball bat, brass knuckles, or a wrench they had found on the ground. The lucky ones, they had the knives they usually carried with them. It was difficult to find guns in their city, though both of the men in the lead had one of their own tucked into the waistband of their jeans. Neither reached for it, they only stared each other down.
Kwon Jiyong kept his black lined eyes trained on the man before him, crossing his arms. “What brings your guys around here, Lee?” He asked casually, as if he was coincidentally meeting his friend at a bar, instead of confronting a rival gang in dark warehouse. Lee Seungri, the dark haired man across from Jiyong, only shrugged, equally as casual as the other. He wore his signature smirk, looking back at his guys, before matching Jiyong’s piercing gaze with his own once again.
“I could ask you the same,” the dark haired man grinned. “Your boys haven’t exactly been quiet around our parts either.” Jiyong’s eyes flashed to the guys behind him accusingly, as if expecting them to object. When he was met with silence, he sighed, smirking.
“Looks like you’ve been slacking off with border patrol then, Lee. Going soft, are you?” Jiyong taunted. He took a step forward, causing some of Seungri’s men to flinch or raise their weapons. Seungri was less than bothered, raising an eyebrow at the blond man’s words.
“Soft?” He scoffed. He took a step forward as well, twitching his neck to the side with a painful sounding crack. “I guess I’ll have to stiffen up then.” He looked back at his men, grinning. Jiyong caught his gaze and nodded at his own guys as well. The two turned back to face each other, the flickering lights from the burnt out fluorescents above them giving the whole room a cliche, movie-like feeling that made Jiyong laugh.
“Let’s get started then, shall we?”
And so it began.
