Door creaking open. A loud thump.
 

Then suddenly, a heavy weight pounced on me, making me groan and break free from the wonderful dream land I was just in, where I was surrounded by pink cotton candy clouds that I could easily reach up and eat and not be called a ‘Pink Pig’ for it.
 

 “Ice cream.”
 

“Wh—”
 

“Ice cream!!!”
 

My ears rang from the whiney voice of my annoying girlfriend. I ignored her and buried myself deeper underneath the blankets, hoping that I could still go back to my yummy happy fun dream.
 

I groaned in anguish when the covers were yanked away from my body, making me shiver as the cold seeped in- but abruptly, her weight was back on me, blanketing me with such warmth that I automatically wrapped my arms around her.
 

I sighed in content as she nuzzled her face into my neck.
 

And then “Ice cream.”
 

“Taeyeon… It’s like… What time is it?” I grumbled sleepily against her hair.
 

“…One.”
 

“One?!” I repeated in agony. “God, go back to sleep!”
 

“But…ice cream.” The room was dark, but I knew that cute little pout of hers was there. And I was weak for that pout. I hated it, and I loved it at the same time.
 

I shook my head when I realized I was about to give in. “Can’t you go by yourself? Or ask Sunny or Hyo?”
 

“But I want you.”
 

This girl. She knew exactly what to say to make me cave. “Wait, let’s cuddle for five minutes first,” I told her, secretly hoping that she’d fall asleep in my arms so I didn’t have to go out into the freezing cold.

Luck wasn’t with me that night as I shivered inside the 24-hour grocery store, waiting for Taeyeon to make her decision about which ice cream to buy.
 

“Taeyeon…” I didn’t even know why she wanted ice cream so much. It was in the middle of winter, and we were both shivering as the heater inside the shop could only do so much.
 

“Wait, wait, wait…” she mumbled, inspecting practically every single ice cream they had in the freezer.
 

I bit my lip and looked around discreetly, trying to gauge if people had noticed us. I mean, we had oversized hoodies on, but one should never underestimate the power of paparazzi and sones. They have the ability to know who we are by our fingers, for Christ’s sake.
 

Sighing in relief when no one seemed to notice the two weirdos taking forever in the ice cream section, I turned back to Taeyeon, and my eyes bugged out when I was given a front row seat to her tiny (but firm, I can promise you that) shaking booty.
 

Only then did I realize that TT was playing through the speakers, and she was dancing along.
 

I wanted to tell her to hurry up, but…nah, I really didn’t. Instead, I took my phone out and readied my camera.
 

“Tae,” I whispered, trying to grab her attention.
 

She turned around and looked down at my phone, immediately smiling cheekily. I watched in complete fascination as she made some space for herself while she waited for the chorus to come in.
 

And that was how I filmed Taeyeon dancing to TT in a grocery store at 2 AM in the morning.
 

I put my phone back in my pocket and realized that we still weren’t done shopping.
 

“Should I get the vanilla or the caramel apple?”
 

“Just get both.”
 

“But—”
 

“Taeyeon, I’d buy all of those for you if it meant that we can leave. Now.”
 

It was meant to be a light threat, but at the way she beamed up at me, her bangs falling over her forehead and practically covering her eyes, I was freaking lost.
 

I could never understand how Taeyeon could look utterly cute and delectable in a dark hoodie with her hair all over her face, but if I thought too hard about it, I’d just explode.
 

We left the store with a plastic bag full of frozen treats (Taeyeon bought four for herself, but we made sure to buy some for Hyo and Sunny too).
 

“Can you drive for me?” Taeyeon asked as we neared her car.
 

I blinked at her in suspicion. “Is this so you can eat your ice cream while we’re on our way home?”
 

Taeyeon didn’t even hesitate to nod happily, and I couldn’t help but smile at her, completely enamored. I loved it when she’s this happy. It felt like a precious gift that I wanted to tuck away and keep forever.
 

I was about to ease the car out of the parking lot when I was wrapped in a warm and crushing hug from her. In reflex, I embraced her just as hard and buried my head at the crook of her neck.
 

“Thank you,” she mumbled against me, and it only made me draw her in tighter.
 

Once we pulled away, I couldn’t help but pull down her hoodie so that I could see her face better, tucking her hair back behind her cute little elf ears.
 

She leaned in, and I didn’t hesitate to meet her lips with mine. Her ice-cold nose brushed against my cheek, but it only made me want to kiss her harder so I could warm her up in a way that I hoped no one ever could.

This just stemmed from a Twitter convo with my friends @thelamechingu and @taeminsjawline when we were spazzing about this super cute taeny-like short story, so I made a little version of that.
