CHAPTER 10: Pretend

"Good morning.." Hanna made a greeting as she entered Hwang residence.

The one who replied her greeting was Sujin, who was sitting in the family room drinking a bottle of milk. "Good morning, Hanna. What's bring you here this early morning?"

"I bring chicken soup for Minhyun.." Hanna showed a hot bowl of soup she hold with a tray to Sujin.

"Do you make it by yourself?" Sujin asked.

But Hanna grinned. "It's mom's."

Listened to Hanna's answer, Sujin chuckled. "I guessed it.. Just go to his room."

"Ye.." Hanna nodded and walked to Minhyun's room. There, she directly went in without knocking. "Minhyun ah--"

But Minhyun was startled because he was topless. "Yaa! Can you knock before entering my room?" He covered his upper body with sweater he wanted to wear.

"Your door wasn't fully closed, you punk!" Hanna answered calmly as she put the food tray on the table next to the bed.

She looked up to Minhyun and he already wore his sweater.  "Nothing to see anyway.."

That made Minhyun chuckle. "Nothing to see?? Ya, I built abs, do you want to see it?" Minhyun just wanted to lift up his sweater when Hanna walked closer and hit his forehead softly. "Ack!"

"You're just whinning I might see your body, but what are you doing right now? Tsk Tsk." Hanna threw a smirk at Minhyun and then dragged the desk chair close to the bed and asked him to sit there.

"You just have a shower?" Hanna asked as he looked at the water dropping from Minhyun's hair to the sweater.

Minhyun could only nod as he took the towel to dry his wet hair, before he sat on the chair.

Hanna sat on the edge of the bed and shook her head softly. "I don't even wash my face and you already showered. Of course from the clean man Hwang Minhyun."

Ignoring Hanna's words, Minhyun changed the topic. "What's bring you here?"

"Ah! Here.. Chicken Soup for you." Hanna took the bowl of soup and gave it to Minhyun.

Minhyun took it and looked at the well-cooked soup Hanna brought. He commented, "If you want to give me soup, you should cook it by yourself, not asking and troubling your mom this early morning.."

"Really? Do you want me to cook? Then okay..." Hanna just wanted to get up when Minhyun realized his slipped words and he stopped Hanna.

Minhyun shouldn't ask Hanna to make him soup when he knew that Hanna can't cook. He tried to correct his words. "No. no.. it's better to have your mom's.. send my thanks to her."

Hanna showed a winning smile as she said, "Okay.."

As Minhyun started eating the soup, Hanna checked on Minhyun's body temperature by placing her back of the palm on his forehead. "Your fever went down.. It must be because of my magic trick."

Listened to that, Minhyun choked up.

"Aish, eat slowly!" Hanna directly went up and rubbed his back.

But Minhyun even asked, "Later if I got fever again. Will you do that again?"

Knowing that Minhyun was okay, Hanna sat again and commented, "Don't get sick again, what's with that wish?"

Minhyun could only grin. If he could, he really wanted to get fever everyday so Hanna could do her magic trick on him. But then he asked, "If the other kids have a fever, will you do that too, to them?"

Without thinking, Hanna answered, "Of course!"

Minhyun was a bit disappointed to hear that, because that means it wasn't special for him. "Jonghyun too?"

But when Jonghyun's name was mentioned, Hanna changed her expression. "Jonghyun is different case. I don't think I can do that to him."

That surprised Minhyun. "Why? You like him, don't you?"

"Yeah, because I like him I might be too nervous to do that trick." Hanna answered it as she looked down feeling embarrassed.

Hanna's words showed Minhyun that she only considered him as friend. Of course, she doesn't need to be nervous when she's with me. She even came here without washing her face. Minhyun told himself.

"But, how could you go home with Jonghyun that night?" Minhyun changed the topic to the thing he curious about.

"That night was extremely cold, right? My mind was suddenly thinking about him.. Does he bring his gloves? Does he bring his scarf? Should he walk home by himself in that cold night? Those questions made me want to see him. So yeah, I decided to stop by his restaurant."

Listened to what Hanna was saying got Minhyun thinking. Does she wear warm clothes? Does she bring her scarf? Does she forget to bring her gloves?  Those questions were also the questions he asked about Hanna that night.

Minhyun smiled bitterly, the one whom he worried about, was actually worrying someone else.

Flashback.

Minhyun knew Hanna's secret about a year ago after the announcement of class 2 placement.

Hanna suddenly threw a fit to Minhyun because he could get into the same class with Jonghyun.

"How could you be in class 2 A, why can't I? I hate you Hwang Minhyun." Hanna whined as she hit Minhyun's arm.
