The Circle's Headquarters never seemed to be a lively place. The only places Yejin ever saw people was at the Info Center and Chen's office and Xiumin's office, which were really the only places she had been besides the locker room down the hall from the Info Center. Now after leaving Chen's office she went down to the bottom floor where the training rooms were with large groups of people running drills and practicing formations. Yejin went mostly ignored as she walked through the plexiglass hall, allowing those who pass to see inside as the recruits were sent through intense training.

About halfway down the hall she recognized Min in one of the massive padded rooms yelling commands at a pair of guys fighting in the center. Yejin couldn't hear what she was saying but by the way her face was bright red and her wild gestures as moved said she was not pleased with what was going on. For a moment Yejin thought about going inside and seeing what the problem was but after a quick glance down at her hideous mint green scrubs she decided against it and kept moving down the hall. At the end was a T junction with another long hall that was lined with small single doors on either side of thick chrome double doors that were heavily locked with a digital code, keycard reader and what looked like a fingerprint scanner. Above the doors was a single word that made sense why there was so much security on the doors: Armory.

Turning to her right she made her way around the corner, her mind mostly lost in the chaos that the afternoon left her in. The attack wasn't as bad as she had thought one from Suho would be, it was the fact innocent families were in danger and that Yejin had shot a gun without a second thought when a stray bullet could have easily gone through a wall and possible killed a kid. That had shaken her, that left her with the nauseous feeling of guilt and fear, that made her realize that she didn't hate guns as much as she thought.

Yejin once at the end of that hall locked herself in the last room on her left, which was a firing range like she had guessed the rooms were. She curled up under the counter that would have held the spare ammo wanting to disappear. She wanted to get as far from the world above as possible, knowing she shouldn't like guns, not when she risked innocent lives by wielding one with the uncertainty that her first shot would land home, or the fact she killed her own father with one but didn't blink an eye as she pulled the trigger. Yejin was not as “good” as she wanted to believe she was, as the days ticked by she was learning that that was more and more evident.

She wasn't sure how long she was in that room hiding away, but it was clearly hours from how stiff her body had become from staying cramped in a tight ball for so long. Yejin did know she was being childish and ridiculous hiding and not listening to Xiumin about waiting for him to get back in his office or Chen's. Now as she heard someone rattling about with the doorknob she wished she found a more secure hiding place because she wasn't ready to deal with people yet. Her mind was still a mess, her emotions were all a jittery wreck and she had no idea how to go about verbalizing what was happening inside her, screaming seemed like a good start.

When the door finally creaked open Yejin turned her head slightly to see who was there. Part of her had been expecting – and wanting – it to be Xiumin, but she wasn't overly disappointed nor surprised to see that it wasn't him moving towards her.

“Yejin, we have to go,” Chen said softly.

He crouched down next to her, a hand patting her shoulder urging her to move.

“How mad is Xiumin?” she asked. Her voice cracking as she lifted her head from her arms.

Chen looked startled by her question, then a sympathetic wan of a smile covered his face. “He's not mad at all. He got caught up in a work problem, so he couldn't come get you himself. He said if you hadn't come out of hiding by eleven to get you and make sure you've eaten,” he explained.

Yejin blinked several times before Chen's words made sense to her. Lifting her head a little higher she stared at her friend who was trying to get her to stand with an arm around her shoulders and a hand pulling her arms away from her bent legs. After a moment she allowed him to bring her to her feet, her joints stiff and sore and her legs a little shaky to be holding her full wright all of a sudden.

“Did you show him where I was?” she asked as he lead her out of the firing range room.

“I didn't at first, but after he threatened my future without kids I didn't really have a choice,” Chen replied with a shaky laugh that told Yejin that the threat was far worse than he was letting on.

They made their way through the halls of the lowest level mostly in silence, Chen's hand gently guiding her from the middle of her back. Yejin remembering that she was still wearing the hideous scrubs from the hospital from the itchy way the material brushed against her legs as she walked. When they reached sub-basement level two she paused just inside the hall from the stairwell, Chen almost tripping over himself to stop next to her. She bit her inner cheek as her gaze found the small mouth to the hallway to Xiumin's office. Chen inspected her face before shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans with a long sigh.

“He's really not mad Yejin,” he assured.

She wanted to reply with Yeah, but he will be if we talk, but she knew that would bring on a slew of questions that she wasn't up to answering, so instead she sai
