A time in our lives
Description
"I had you, and then I lost you"
Foreword
A TIME IN OUR LIVES
There was a moment in my life when I met a girl
It was brief, it was quick, but liberating
She’s like summer in the middle of winter.
She’s like spring, while waiting for autumn to end.
She’s like a Morse code, I try to decode.
She calmed my raging heart,
grounded me when I lost control.
She put pastel colors in my monochromatic world.
She came in like a destructive storm,
Tore my walls, left me vulnerable
Then she left like a sneaky cat, in the dead of the night
Steady and quiet.
Now, I’m quivering. Cold and lost.
Where is she? The girl who smelled like strawberry and cinnamon.
My spring, my summer.
What wouldn’t I give, to get back to that moment in our lives,
When I still had her by my side.
