The Kingdom of Chenmul and The need for MulYuan

 

Every year,the selection for MulYuan  takes place.It is because water god has kept rejecting every girl selected.When selected,MulYuan is to be left alone in dark sea in wee hour.She would then disappear for a year.If that MulYuan came back in a year,it is the indication that Water God dislikes the girl.Within 24 hours,Kingdom of Chenmul would have to find another lady.This has been going on for more than 200 years. The legend behind the need for selection has been forgotten. What has not is that Water god will strike the Chenmul and destroy all if they fail to send a new girl every year.

 

 

MulYuan

 

MulYuan means Water god’s bride in Chenmul’s legend. They are the girls selected every year to send to water god.When the girl is selected,she will be taken to the sea and left alone in wee hours.No one knows what happened to her.It would have been an end if the girl disappear forever.Because it means water god has taken her.Alas,every girl came back for past 200 plus times.When they come back a year or so later,they don’t remember their identity or what they faced.Holding the golden earrings,they are found on shore.MulYuan are renamed as MulHan after they come back.MulHan,regarded as having divine reward from Water God,mostly become King’s wives or princes wives,allowed to live in luxury.

One week before the wedding,commoner Hwayi is selected as MulYuan by the state.Devastated,she tried to kill herself through jumping into the sea when she was left alone.Saved by King of mermaids with water god’s order,she entered into Mohu World aka water city.On the way to Mohu Palace where water god lives,she was attacked by three highly gods,losing three of her seven souls.Her life is an dead end. Or not as she was saved by the water god,the most aloof one,far from her imagination.

 

In Mohu world,the forbidden love binded two individuals together,discovering their past and fighting for their future.
