Bullets & Fragile HeartsAfter the meeting with her father, Rana requested V to bring her straight home. Any excitements that were left in her body were already burned by her father’s second condition. Her father practically told her to give up on her freedom if she was to continue her job as a DJ in night clubs. Was giving up her freedom worth the shot just so she could continue being an unknown person? She had no idea. She could not think. All she wanted to do right then was to lie down on her bed and think about it another day. Sleep sounded nice right then, so that was what she did. She was dead to the day and to the rest of the world as soon as her body reached her comfortable bed.
The moment that they got home, V noticed that his VIP had already locked herself inside her room, which he had nothing against with. He decided to use the free time to overview his mission’s documentation. There was something that seemed out of place in his mission this time. There was too little information and it bugged him to the core. As he already promised himself not to put a bullet hastily into someone’s head, he had to go over the mission over hundreds of times even if he already memorized her entire profile word by word. He let out a long and heavy sigh.
Something is not right.
He pondered to himself. What could the sin of the young lady be for her to be ordered for termination at such young age? She seemed like she had never killed a single creature in her entire life. Sure she had her tantrum moments, but which hot blooded teenagers didn’t go through the phase? She was just another regular girl. He would have to look into her characters and history a little bit more for him to make a decision whether or not he should pull the trigger on her. That was the main problem on this mission. It was too vague – too ambiguous for him to make a decision. There must be something wrong here. If it was not the girl, he needed to look into the one that hooked him with this mission – his commissioner.
He checked out the time on his watch, close to midnight and there was no sound from Rana. Did she escaped from him again? He quickly got up from his study table and dashed to the garage only to see her superbike and sedan were still parked at the garage – no signed that they even moved. Which means, if she had ran away from him, she would’ve taken public transportations. Again, he made his way upstairs and rushed to her room. He knocked a few times on the wooden door.
No sound.
Last attempt, he turned the knob to the door slowly. She didn’t lock the door. Her maid had told him last night when he arrived at the house that she never locked her door because she was not a light sleeper. She needed to be woken up in the morning, so that’s why she never locked the door.
To his relief, he found her sleeping soundly on her bed, still wearing the clothes she had on when visiting her father at the office. She looked so calm, unlike her feisty demeanor when she was around him. He found himself smiling to her innocent-like features while she was sleeping. Before he realized it, he snapped out of his reverie and closed the door to let her sleep till morning broke.
…
“Miss! Lunch is ready!” The maid which Rana just called Ahjumma howled from the dining table and came running – fresh from shower Rana from her room down to the living room.
V who had been spending his time sitting on one of the sofas in the living room darted his head to watch the girl skipping down the stairs. Did she really slept until afternoon from last night? He had no idea. He woke up at 7 am that morning and there was no sign of life in the house except for the maid rustling about in the kitchen. She made him eat breakfast wit
