"I DON'T WANT TO PLAY!!!" Momo yells.

She turns her face away from us while we are all watching her blankly. Momo looks super angry towards us. Tzuyu said Momo is never like this before. This is new, not just for me, but for all the members. Even Nayeon as the oldest member can't say anything. It's so unusual! But actually we know that there is one person who can handle Momo...

"C'mon, Momo! Everyone is waiting. It won't be fun without you," Jeongyeon says.

"Duh! Of course it won't be fun without me. I AM THE JOKE...." Momo really sounds angry. "I'm tired of always dying early. You guys always accuse me for no reason. That's not fun at all!" She exclaims. Hearing that makes Sana giggles, which makes some of us naturally do the same. Unfortunately, Momo hears us and that makes her become angrier. Jeongyeon gives a glare to Sana that suddenly makes us all stop laughing.

"We've been playing the same game for years anyway. Don't you all bored!?" Momo grumbles.

Jeongyeon says, "But... But this is Haeju's first mafia game. Right, Ju?" Jeongyeon gives me a sign to walk forward. "She's just got her first 100 subs on her fan fiction that she posts online. It's a special day for her! Besides, we will get really busy with the schedules after this. Maybe we won't be able to play mafia again.

Oh please, Momo! Just do it for our new family. For Haeju. Okaayy??" Jeongyeon kneels in front of her while holding her hands.

Momo turns her head to see me with her annoyed face. I awkwardly smile. She looks at me, then the other members, and back to Jeongyeon. "For our new family?" Momo asks her.

Jeongyeon nods and smiles.

Momo is thinking something for a moment before she replies, "Huh.... Okay, I will do it!" She says. Everyone is happy to hear that. Some of us feel relieved. "But in one condition!"

Momo sings cheerfully as she is walking from the kitchen to bring some snacks. Jeongyeon follows her while bringing some bottles of Pocari Sweat. Momo is being so loud right now. That means she is not in a bad mood anymore. It's relieving, but to be honest it's kinda strange to see her changed this quick. You know what I mean right? After all that I did to her... Had a dance battle with the J-line, ruined her ship with Mina... I'm sure I'm the antagonist of her life. Sana and Mina are so close to me nowadays and I'm sure she is not really happy about it. So why does she accept Jeongyeon's invitation to play mafia? Momo shouldn't do something that she dislikes just for me. This is just...

"Haeju, can you help me to distribute the drinks?" Jeongyeon asks me.

"Oh oh yeah, sure!" I reply. 

"Everyone gets one each. Except for you, I already bring a bottle of water since you like regular water more. Right? Aaaand... Also a cola for Nayeon," She explains it quickly. I don't know if it's just me, but Jeongyeon always sounds smart for me. I think she is the smartest member. 

"Oh okay, thank you..." I say as I take all the bottles from Jeongyeon's hand. I wonder how she knows that I don't really like Pocari? Oops.....

"Let me help you, Unnie" Tzuyu suddenly comes and takes some of the bottles.

I answer with her smile and that makes her smile back. Tzuyu is always so cute. She cares so much for me. But what makes me worry is Sana always watches us. Right now I can spot her looking at us. Sana is so lovely to every member, but lately, she is trying to be so close to me. It's not that I don't like it, but that makes her treats Tzuyu differently. It looks like she is jealous. But, really? Why tho?? And I think Tzuyu thinks the same as I do. Her fanfic about Sana indicates that she feels insecure around her these days. I heard that Sana and Tzuyu are used to be so close to each other. Do I just ruin their friendship? I hope not because I'll be very sad.......

 

After giving some of the bottles to Tzuyu, I first walk to Nayeon who is talking with Jihyo. "One pocari for Jihyo and cola for Nayeon."

"Thanks, Haeju!" Nayeon says nicely. She always does. But usually, it's hard to get along with her. Eventhough we have the same age, we don't really match each other. Huh, I hope things can change soon. But at least we still treat each other nicely. 

Meanwhile, Jihyo doesn't even look at me when I give her the drink. She keeps telling a story to Nayeon and pretends not to see me. Ahh... I feel so awkward! Is this because of that night? Is she awkward at me? Or have I done something wrong? I don't know Jihyo can become this sensitive. I really don't want to lose her, but I'm not sure how to fix this. 

After that, I approach Mina who is helping Momo, while Momo is talking with Jeongyeon. "Haejuuu!" Mina waves her hand to me energetically, which almost makes her drop the pillows she is holding.

"Hi, Mina! You look busy."

"Yeah. Momo is so excited about her new version of the mafia game. I think you should be excited too since it's your first time playing it. Right, Haeju?"

"Hehe yeah... Kinda. By the way, this is a drink for you. Mm... Where should I put it?"

"Just put it on the pillows. Be careful...... Yup, thanks! Oh and Momo's too please."

I give her another bottle. I'm surprised that she is so caring about Momo. Still so close. Well, I guess love will never change, only people do. I just hope Mina really listens to my advice earlier about dating her. It will be so dissapointing if she doesn't. "Should I help you with the pillows?

"No no, it's okay. Momo will help me after this."

"Okay, then. I... Will find my spot. See you later, Mina!"

"See yaaaa"

When I turn away I see Dahyun and Chaeyoung are setting up some candles on the floor. Until today, I don't know what kind of person Dahyun is. I'm sure she is not just a playful girl. She is usually cheerful, but she is also so sensitive. I think she always takes things seriously. That makes me afraid to be close to her hmm...

Chaeyoung is confusing too. I think my personality is the closest to her since she likes most of the things that I like. But I feel like she has so many masks. She can be cool and savage, but the other time she can be cute and clingy too. Sometimes she is smart, but sometimes she is so clumsy. Anyway, it looks like both of them are doing good in the preparation for tonight's game. I wonder how it will be. I'll look forward to it.

 

Not long after that, the preparation is ready. The members gather in a circle. Momo turns off the light. There is one lighted-up candle in front of each of us. There are some candles in the middle of the circle too, near the snacks. And that's all the source of light here now. Nothing else.

"WELCOME EVERYONE!" Momo exclaims in a scary way, "Welcome to Momo's Mafia game!"

"Ooooww...." Nayeon helps her bringing up the mood.

"Finally I become the MC," Momo says happily, "I won't die early tonight. Yes!!! Hahaha..."

"Yaaaay" Everyone follows what she said and then laughs.

Momo sits on her place. "Okay okay.... How do I start it again?"

Everyone crack-laughs again.

"Let's pick the roles first. Two mafias, 1 police, 1 doc," Jeongyeon tells her.

"Alright. Now everyone close your eyes!" Momo commands.

"Omo it's so scary to close eyes in the dark like this," Sana says.

"Just close it!" Momo tells her, "No one may say anything until I allow you, okay!?"

"Okaaay....!"

I starts to close my eyes too and then I can hear Momo is telling the story while walking around us. In the same time I can hear it starts raining outside.....

"One night in Twice's dorm, there are 10 girls trapped inside. The doors and window are all locked and all phones lose its connection. They are afraid, but try to calm each other as they are in a friendship for a long time. Unfortunately they don't know there are 2 KILLERS disguising between them.....!"

Things get quiet for a while. No one speaks. Closing eyes makes me feels like I'm alone. I checks Tzuyu if she is still there. She is....

"There is also 1 WITCH who can deal with the death........"

She is choosing the role while telling a story. Hmm... I hope I won't get any difficult role. By the way, I can hear Momo's steps. The sound of her steps is getting more clear yet then slowly goes away. Suddenly I hear her running!

"AND!!!" Momo exclaims. That makes some of us scream. I hear someone is sobbing (I think it's Dahyun). But anyway Momo doesn't stop to narrate her story, "There is 1 DETECTIVE who can figure out who the killers are......

One scary night has passed. Morning come. Everyone wakes up."

 

I open my eyes.

 

I feel relieve to see everyone else again. That narration feels so long for me. Now everyone is starting to get suspicious to each other. In this round I'm trying to observe first and try not to speak too much.

I can see that some of the people complain about the new name for the roles, but they compliment Momo for creating a good vibe for the game. I agree with them because I really feel insecure right now. They also start accusing each other, while defending theirself. They all sound profesional and I think it's because the have played this game hundreds of time. Anyway this round ends by no one agrees to kill anyone. No one dies. It's so unfortunate to give the killers a day to survive, but as long as I don't die, I think it's okay..................

 

"The sky gets dark again. Twice members can't figure out who the killers among the. A day has passed. Now everyone is trying to sleep inside their own rooms, except.... the 2 killers! They open their door and agree to kill someone in the dorm. Then they go to bed and sleep......

......After that the witch wakes up and teleports herself to one of the member's room. She is trying to protect her and sleeps there.....

......Then finally the detective wakes up and asks Momo who witnessed what the killers did. She points out one member to find out her identity. After getting the answer, the detective comes back to sleep..........

.....Now the sun has risen again and everybody wakes up."

I open my eyes.

"Everyone gets out of their room, except one person. The members immediately check what happens with that person. The door is opened and we see JIHYO is already dead inside.............."

 

"Me?? Oh, you blew my candle!"

"Aaah because she is dead? Nice nice."

"Omooo so scary. Poor Jihyo...."

"Jihyo annyeooong~"

"Why you wave to a dead body?? Hahaha..."

"Hahahaha..."

"Oh yeah for the one who's dead, don't say anything, please"

"I get it, Momo. I'm gonna take my phone in my room then. There's something I wanna check."

"Alone? In the dark??"

"Hoo... As expected, our leader is the bravest!"

"Anyway guys now let's find out who the killers are!"

"Hmm...."

"Chaeyoung talks so much tonight, doesn't she?"

"What's you role?"

"No, I am not"

"Agree agree"

"I am really a civilian, what's your role?"

"I'm a civilian"

"Ah maybe it's not civilian since the story is changed"

"I'm just a regular Twice remember"

"Hahaha..."

"Me too"

"Me too!"

"You, what's you role?"

"I'm a member."

"I mean yesterday you were so quiet. Why?"

"I was not."

"How about you?"

"Isn't it Tzuyu?"

"Tzuyu?"

"I am... A member"

"Why Tzuyu?"

"Not Tzuyu, not Tzuyu"

"I think it's Chaeyoung"

"Me too, me too"

"It's either Chaeyoung or Jeongyeon"

"Why me?"

"Yes, why me??"

"Maybe it's Nayeon"

"I also think it's Chaeyoung since yesterday"

"Right!"

"I agree...."

After a long and intense discussion Momo stands up. "Okay, okay, now it's time to vote. C'mon guys silent! Who do you think is the killer?" Momo asks, then everybody starts to point to each other. Chaeyoung gets the most votes. "Okay, I will give you a time to defend yourself for 10 seconds. Starts..... Now!"

"Ah why me?" Chaeyoung asks. "You guys accused me yesterday and accusse me again today. I'm really a member. I'm innocent! I....."

"Time's out! So... Would you guys kill her tonight? One two three!" Momo asks the group again. Unfortunately the majority wants her to die. Therefore Momo moves to her spot to blow out her candle. That means she is dead! Now Chaeyoung is completely hidden in the dark. It's really like she is not there anymore. After that, Momo tells us to sleep again like the previous round. She tells the story and then wakes us up. 

This time Dahyun's candle is blown out......

I'm glad I still survive this round. I immediately investigate everyone's eyes as soon as possible. I think their first reaction after waking up is important to examine. But while doing that, suddenly Nayeon surprises me with a question.

"Haeju, what's your role?"

"I... I am an innocent," I reply.

Nayeon speaks again,"You're so quiet since the beginning."

"Maybe it's because it's her new game! Isn't it Ju?" Sana defends me.

"I think Haeju knows how to play. She is smart," Jeongyeon says while looking at me.

"Are you, Haeju?" Sana asks me gently.

"Mm... I don't really know who to suspect to be honest," I say, "May I ask a question tho?"

"Yes, go ahead."

"Dahyun just died, right? Who did she accuse yesterday? Maybe it can be a clue...."

"Tzuyu, wasn't it?" Sana answers me.

"No no, Sana was the first one who mentioned her. I remember that Dahyun accused Jeongyeon," Mina says.

"Aaah... Jeongyeon?!" Sana looks surprised.

"Jeong, what's your role?" Nayeon asks.

"I am not the killer," Jeongyeon replies.

"Are you sure?"

"Maybe Momo picks her as a killer since she is usually the MC?" I say.

"Are you really just a member Jeongyeon?"

"Yes! Yes I am..  Just a member..."

"Aah.. Jeongyeon is so good in acting. I'm never be able tell everytime she becomes a mafia."

"No no, Jeongyeon is lying this time. I'm sure of it," Nayeon says. "I really know her hahaha...."

"For real??"

"But I am...."

"I think Haeju was right," Mina says, "She has a high chance to be picked by Momo."

"Hmm you're right...."

"It's Jeongyeon then?"

"I don't know about that, but I'm sure Jeongyeon really lied. Really!" Nayeon says.

"Whoaa that's amazing....." Jeongyeon scratches her head. For a moment it looks like she's losing words and doesn't know what to do. But before anyone starts to accuse her again, jeongyeon speaks. "I understand. Yes I admit I lied when I said I was a member! Okay?! You guys are gonna regret this, but..... I think I should reveal my REAL identitiy." We are surprised that she says that. We are all now looking forward to what she's going to say. "I am... The detective,"Jeongyeon says, "Ah, actually I don't want to reveal until I figure out all the killers. But it's okay, I've already known one."

"Really?"

"Who is it? Who is it?"

Jeongyeon clears . "So this was what I thought. This is Momo's first mafia game as an MC right? Because of all the preparation she already did, of course she didn't want this game to end quickly. So she needed someone who was always good at being a mafia. Mina was often picked to be a mafia before. She usually won! Also, momo was really close with Mina, so I checked if Mina was the mafia on the first night. And yeah, I was right. Mina is the mafia! Ah, I mean THE KILLER......."

Jeongyeon's explanation makes us all amazed. As expected, Jeongyeon works effectively as a detective. Or at least that's what we think. Anyway I can't believe I've survived this far. That was a close one! I am glad Sana helped to defend myself. Okay, I will promise myself to win this game for her. I will not be dying again. Not today! I don't want her help becomes meaningless... I will try to survive until the end. I have a good role anyway.

"So..... Let's kill Mina?"

After a short investigation on Mina, we decide to kill her. Momo walks towards her and blows the candle. I saw Momo grinned a little before she did that. Anyway now Mina has dissapeared with the dark. She dies........

 

Momo is going to start telling the story again when suddenly there is a loud sound of glass breaking from afar. 

"WHAT'S THAT?!"

"Aaaah... Mommyyyyy!!"

"I'm so scaaaaaaared!"

"It's from the kitchen."

"Is someone else here besides us???"

"Isn't it Jihyo? Jihyo said she wanted to take her phone earlier."

"JIHYO IS THAT YOU??!!"

"I'm here!" Jihyo says suddenly from her spot in the circle. She really shocks us all. "I've cameback a long time ago." It's hard to see her since her candle is already blown out.

I see Nayeon and Mina are holding hands together. Dahyun starts to cry on Momo's shoulder, so is Chaeyoung on Jeongyeon. I move closer to Tzuyu and hug her. Sana is watching me while holding Jihyo.

"SO WHO'S THAT AIIISSHHH!!!"

"Guys guys, chill..."

"Maybe it's a cat...?"

"THERE CAN'T BE ANY CAT HERE SANA!!!"

"Sorry....."

"Okay, wait, let me check it! Ahhh.... We shouldn't turn off the light if you guys are afraid like this," Jeongyeon says as she is standing and walks to the switch. Then we can hear a sound of her flicks it. But.... The light isn;t . She then tries to flick it again 2-3 times to make it sure. "I think the electricity dies...." Jeongyeon finally speaks.

"Aaahhh why is it like this?"

"Why are we playing in the dark from the beginning anyway?"

"Wait, Jihyo you have a phone, right? Turn it on!"

Jihyo takes her phone out and turns on the flashlight function. Now, it's so much brighter than before. "Hahaha I'm sorry! I forget that I have my phone."

"Ayyyy!"

"Well, it's so much better now."

"It's okay, you can stop crying now, guys."

Jeongyeon walks to Jihyo and takes the phone. "Okay, with this flashlight I will check what that breaking glass sound was. You, guys, wait here. I will take my phone too before coming back."

"Don't be too long!"

"Be careful!"

"Jeongyeon!" I call her, "Don't go alone!"

She stops, then turns her head towards us. "Tzuyu, come with me!"

"Yes, Unnie," Tzuyu reply. Jeongyeon and Tzuyu then leave us with the flashlight.

 

The game stops for a while. Everyone is trying to calm each other because apparently we are all scaredy cats. Even the sound of lightning outside makes us scream several time. I see some people eat the snacks to calm theirself. I talk to Mina who sits besides me. She looks legitimately scared like a little girl in a haunted house. "I haven't entered a haunted house before. And I will never do that!" she tells me. 

After a while there is no sign of Jeongyeon or Tzuyu coming back. "Jeongyeonaaa! Are you okaaay?" Nayeon asks.

No answers.

"Yoo Jeongyeeoooooooon!? Chou Tzuyuuuuuuuu?!"

"Guuuuys, are you okay??"

From the hallway I see a bright light is approaching. Slowly it becomes brighter and brighter. They've comeback! "Nothing's there," Jeongyeon replies as she is trying to get back to her spot. "There are no glass breaking or anything falls in the kitchen. Not even in the other rooms."

"That's strange..."

"Are you okay, Tzuyu?" I whisper to her as she arrives.

"Yes, I am...."

"You look scared."

"Yeah, a little bit. It's so dark there........"

"Aww.... It's okay. Now you are here with us."

 

"Let's just finish this game quick and sleep! How about that?" I hear someone says that.

"Agree!"

"Cool."

"Yeah, calm down, girls."

"Okay, because Jeong and Tzuyu are here now we can continue the game," Momo says, "Now all the left players please close your eyes!" No story naration this time. Momo just tells us to open our eyes one by one in order of the roles.  After that we open our eyes and see Nayeon's candle is blown........

I immediately raise my hand as I know that I will lose if I don't talk now. "I WANT TO CONFESS......" Everyone is surprised to hear that. Now I'm getting all of their attentions.

"What is it, Haeju?" Sana asks me.

I take a deep breath. "You might not believe this." I look at the remaining member one by one, "Sana... Tzuyu... I AM the detective!"

"Whattt???"

"Wait, but Jeongyeon...."

"And yes, Jeongyeon is the mafia," I speak again. "Here, let me explain it!" I say confidently. But in fact both of my hands are freezing right now. I'm so nervous. I really wanna win this game. My first mafia game...... "First of all, Sana!"

"Yes?"

"You are just a member, right?"

"Right!!!"

"How do I know? It's because I checked you on the first day.I thought people that mostly picked by Momo would be the J-line, so I checked you first. That was when I figured out your role.

And on the day after that, I checked Mina, the other J-line member. And she was surprisingly really the killer! I was surprised because JEONGYEON also knew that Mina was a killer. She even had a good reason behind her accusion. But how? Was it a lucky guess?? I mean, she was cornered back there so I thought it was understandable if she fake claimed herself as a detective...."

"No! I'm really the....."

"Shut up, Jeongyeon! Let Haeju finish her explanation!" Sana cuts her.

"Okay, thanks hmm...... Do you guys remember the day when Mina died? There were 5 of us left: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Sana, Tzuyu and me. That round I knew Nayeon was so suspicious to Jeongyeon, so I thought if Jeongyeon was the killer she would killed Nayeon. Otherwise if Nayeon was the killer, then she would kill the detective (which she thought it was Jeongyeon because she had claimed the role). So I was sure one of them would die. The problem was who should I checked that night. Well, I knew Sana was a citizen. That means I should check Tzuyu, right?

If Tzuyu was the killer, then Jeongyeon and Nayeon would be members. If Tzuyu was a citizen, that would make Jeongyeon/Nayeon the killer. And last night I checked her so I know what's her real role," I can see everyone's eyes are focus on me as they are curious. I grab Tzuyu's hand and look at her eyes. She looks back. "Tzuyu.....You are just a member."

It was quiet all of sudden. Maybe they are all shocked and disbelieve on what I just said. I release Tzuyu's hand as I feel the silence creeps me out. And then Sana suddenly speaks, "Okay then, let's now kill......."

 

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!"

 

Suddenly a shrill shriek fulfills the entire dorm. It's much more stronger than noise of rain and thunder outside. It gives me goosebumps as I'm shocked and suddenly wonder whose voice that is.

"The voice is from the kitchen........."

"MOMO!!!!" Jeongyeon exclaims. She immediately gets up to see her and that makes everyone follows her instinctively. After passing the hallway, we see Jeongyeon is frozen in front of one of our bedroom. With her phone, she is illuminating a body on the floor, with a twisted necks and limbs. Blood is around it that confirms that Momo is...... dead.

 

I'm speechless.

 

Some of us are crying, shocked, speaking things but I can't even hear anyone anymore. It was so dark there but I'm sure that everyone makes the same expression. I try to look closer to Momo's body just to make sure that she is really really REALLY dead. It feels like time goes slower. I don't know what to do. I don't know how to react. I'm confused.

I can't believe what I'm seeing.....

 

"Oh... Is anyone remember what Momo said before we played the game?" Suddenly someone says that. It's Sana and now everyone is looking at her.

"What do you mean, Sana? This is not the right time to......."

Sana cuts Nayeon,"Momo was wrong! Because she said......

 

 

 

 

 

...........On this game she wouldn't die early."

Fiuh... I've been preparing this story when I got my first 100 subscribers, but now it's already 150+. I'm really happy, guys, thank you :') Your supports mean a lot for me. Writing fiction has always been my hobby, but I never get this much attentions before. Hehehe... That makes me wnat to write more~

Anyway, yeah, I'm trying to write a horror story this time. I'm not sure if it will work since it's my least favourite genre. I don't like horror because I don't afraid of dark, ghost, or blood hmm.... But, like I usually did, I want to challenge myself to wirte something different. I hope you enjoy it ^^
