On Guard
Description
Bom was born into a wealthy life. She is the only daughter of one of the most affluent families in South Korea. Just when she thought her life was perfectly laid out…her parents are suddenly murdered.
Foreword
“Mom! Dad!” Bom screamed at the top of her lungs.
From the far distance she could see her beautiful mansion on fire. The fiery flames started spreading out of control. Bom felt the nauseating heat closer to face as she raced towards her house.
Fire alarms and sirens shook the neighbourhood as her neighbours all hurried outside to escape the rapid wildfire.
“What are you doing Bom? Run! Get out of here!” Bom’s neighbour grabbed her shoulders agressively.
“I can’t! My parents are in there! They sleep on the first floor! They won’t make it!” Bom burst with anger. With little time to spare, she broke away from her neighbour’s clutches- desperately clinging onto the last string of hope.
The raging fire’s long arms were slowly catching up to Bom. The smell of burnt ashes clogged her nose as she tried to pass through the thick fog. She let out a heavy cough while the smoke continued to restrict her air supply. Tiny flickers of fire splattered everywhere and burning her skin in the process.
She needed to go inside.
At this moment she would do anything to see her parents.
She couldn't bear the thought of losing her parents.
If only she came home earlier.
“I’m so sorry,” She kept saying to herself.
Suddenly, she felt a brick smashed against her head.
The world turned upside down. She tumbled over with blood trickling down from her head.
She felt jabs of sharp pain all over her body.
Everything was blurry.
She lay on the grassy grounds of her front lawn- unable to move. She clutched onto her chest trying to regain consciousness.
Bom squinted her eyes hoping to see her attacker but it was too late.
Everything turned black.
