“Are we still going to meet each other again?” The little girl, whispered. She tugged at his shirt, refusing to let go, like a frightened baby cub bear. Her pair of small bright eyes was brimmed with tears. The small boy stopped what he was doing, looked at her and nodded his head. He held out his little finger and watched as the little girl hesitantly hooked it.
“Pinky swears ok?”
“Pinky swears, or else you will swallow 100 poison needles as a form of punishment!”
Nevertheless, she paused for a moment and contemplates before looking back at the small boy again. “No, wait! Make it to 10 000 poison needles!” The small boy chuckled adoringly at her and nodded his head.
“I, Jung Yong Hwa promise Seo Hyun that we'll meet each other again if not…” the small boy trailed off while the little girl continued by saying, “he'll swallow 10 000 poison needles!”
“Yong ah~ we are leaving!” His mother’s voice could be heard from a distant.
Before leaving, he leaned closer to the little girl, smiled and whispered into her ears. “Don't ever cry from now onwards Kay? Promise me that.”
She gazed up at him and nodded her head silently. Just when the little boy was about to leave, Seo hyun raced back her house and searched for a small pink envelope in her room; the small pink letter that she used a night writing it where hours and hours trying to come up with a sentence on that piece of paper where she had consistently writing and easer till she was satisfied with the content.
The feelings she wanted to tell him was all inside this small pink envelope. After a few minutes, she finally found it and raced back down but unfortunately, the little boy had got up into his car with his family members. She chased after the car and called out his name repeatedly. The little boy finally turned his back and saw her small little body chasing after the car. He quickly whined the window down and popped his head out of it.
“Yong, Yong!” she cried after.
“Hyun ah, I promise I will be back ten years later!” he yelled back at her.
Seohyun nodded her head but still, with both of her small little, legs still chasing after the car. Without warning, she tripped against a stone and fell to the ground with a thud as she saw the car disappears from her very own sight. Despite her various attempts to refrain herself from crying, she bit her lips in misery and started to bawl on the ground. Clutching the small pink envelope against her chest, she compelled herself and let out a weak smile.
