history

i. LUSTRE Entertainment CEO Song Jiseong has been an eminent figure in the Korean entertainment scenes since the conception of the female group VI.ViD. The group paved the way for KPOP music worldwide, even in the early '20s, and has been of great influence in Korean entertainment, setting and becoming the standard for succeeding girl groups. With the acclaimed group officially concluding in 2008, at their 11th year of existence, Song Jiseong has since immigrated back to the States. LUSTRE Entertainment also announced its hiatus, refuting rumours that further works will be created. They had also discontinued accepting and instructing trainees, all together putting an end to any alleged activity within the company.

Shortly after, Song Jiseong established her own music career in the U.S, bringing artists into existence and working with prominent personalities in the Western scenes.

ii. In 2015, exactly 7 years since VI.ViD's disbandment and her relocation to the U.S, Song Jiseong topped NAVER and other search engines' most searched list for her arrival back to South Korea. Many were intrigued about this comeback, greatly anticipating for whatever plans she has in store and whether LUSTRE Ent. is ready to debut another group. A boy group hopefully, according to Netizens.

Much to supporters' dismay, no signs of activity nor rumoured plans surfaced and went to news. LUSTRE Ent. hasn't issued a statement regarding the company's revival then, leaving many disappointed.

iii. Months after her return, Song Jiseong's name was once again scattered throughout news articles, TV headlines and other sources of news. It was disclosed that LUSTRE Ent. was initially the selected company to manage the upcoming girl group IOI: a girl group developed through a survival show namely Produce 101. However, Song Jiseong rejected producing for the group, leaving MNET no choice but to switch the attending company from LUSTRE to YMC.

Many took this as the end to Song Jiseong's "golden touch", with Produce 101 going a lot better than most imagined. People's word has it that it was nothing less than a mistake and that, if it wasn't for Song Jiseong's supposed fallacious speculation of its pending outcome hence letting such an opportunity go, it could've been another of her legacy. With Produce 101 finishing on a high note, a handful still state their remorse over LUSTRE Ent's missed feat.

iv. The moment the slightest word regarding LUSTRE Ent.'s purported journey to losing its great status died down, Song Jiseong is convinced it's finally time to make a move. As a woman who has triumph jotted down on top of her priority list, it's never an option for her to allow a "measly" girl group project she declined to diminish her illustrious status. With a long year ahead of her, she's going rebut anyone who has doubted her and her capabilities. With 2016 all set and ready, Song Jiseong is going resurrect LUSTRE Ent. from its hiatus and prepare it for something new; something supposedly great. So, she concludes: she's going to make another girl group.

v. Soon, Song Jiseong's activeness is apparent. She marks her beginning by announcing a reunion concert for VI.ViD on the 17th of July, year 2016. People didn't suspect anything relatively dubious about a sudden concert for a disbanded group, taking it as a commemoration for VI.ViD's 19th year since they first appeared in the entertainment field. Some claimed it to be some sort of farewell instead, claiming VI.ViD's final concert is the official end to the company as well, seeing to it that Song Jiseong has her career in the U.S anyway.

However, at the concert's finale, it was revealed that Song Jiseong isn't at the place in time to let VI.ViD be her last and only legacy. It reached news outlets as quick as a flash: LUSTRE Entertainment is debuting a new girl group.

vi. It was news, definitely. LUSTRE Ent. isn't only coming back, but is going to debut a new girl group too!

There was a fair mix of reactions, a handful stating their obvious disappointment, hoping that it would've been a boy group instead. Some were anticipating, not because they look forward to the group itself, but they are craving for the heated competition between all the top girl groups of the current generation. Of course, there are those who absolutely oppose the idea of it. The influx of groups that debuted in the past year was suffocating enough, let alone the ones that already exists—is it necessary to create another one?

However, and fortunately, the good responses and genuine anticipation for this new girl group still belong to the greater part of the population.

Song Jiseong sits in victory. She's back.

?

They're called AMORE. The world isn't aware of that yet, of course, but Song Jiseong is pleased with it. It's settled—the group's name is AMORE. It's Italian for love, and while Song Jiseong isn't the cheesy type, she thinks it's simply enthralling.

They're going to be different—versatile, immensely competent and will transcend expectations. They'll gain, if not greater, similar influence and impact VI.ViD had.

No, they're not going to be VI.ViD 2.0, they're AMORE—influential, impactful and absolute but because of them, alone.

They're a new girl group that'll leave everyone yearning for more, with the group's life span limited to 3 years. 3 years to prove their worth—to prove Song Jiseong's vast range of capabilities. She has 3 years to make AMORE one of the best girl groups of their generation. A girl group that's beyond merely memorable, but a girl group that will disband and still leave its mark all over the KPOP world; its effect and musical influence still lingering even when the group ceases to exist.

from 2017 to 2020, Song Jiseong will prove that time doesn't determine a group's prodigiousness, but, instead, through their infinite talent, undoutable competence and good company management.

But while Song Jiseong is a good CEO—great, even—she is also a woman of hardwork, provability and especially of authority. A woman who believes in elitism between groups. A woman who only sets her eye on the best and only the best. A woman who isn't afraid to perceive something inferior next to her and whatever she possesses.

A woman who seeks for perfection and will strive for it, no matter the circumstance, no matter who she has to step on.

As she recruits members for AMORE, mediocrity is never an option. Her interest remains in the best—those whose individual expertise are able to go beyond one group's average skills. Someone who has exemplary movement in dancing, someone whose vocal range makes you tremble in awe, someone who has striking and unarguable visuals and someone that is unfailingly capable of contributing laughter to variety shows.

She wants perfect, and if perfect means having to go beyond boundaries to territories not under her control to seek them, so be it. If perfect means an undiscovered talent outside Korea, or a trainee from a big shot company or even someone from an existing girl group, then by all means, she will be hers. No matter what, no matter how, no matter who—Song Jiseong will get things her way.

She has a year to pursue all 6 of them and to train them excessively. She has a year to make them the absolute and untouchable girl group.

But this story isn't about Song Jiseong and her journey to retrieve her momentarily lost fame, this story is all about AMORE.

It's about that upcoming girl group whose lives are at stake at every mistake, every flounder and every flaw. A girl group who has to incessantly work day and night, even at the wee hours of the day, to prove their worth. A girl group who can't dare heave a breath outside the practice rooms. It's about struggle—not of fame, not of unsolved matters between each other, and definitely not of the vague future and whether they're ever going to make it in the big leagues.

It's a story about struggle—of being more, of being better, of being the best. A story about 6 girls who were selfishly thrown together to make an invincible career. A story about 6 girls who're in dire need to seek solace from everything that resides between those walls, between the jarring criticisms they get on daily basis and between the impossibly high standard their CEO has set. A story about a girl group who has to face different problems every second they exist.

A girl group who has to face the biggest problem they have to grudgingly agonize over for three whole years: losing themselves in the process of being perfect.
