Welcome to Opium, the city with a lot of secrets.

Vampires roam freely here, although unless you are connected to them in some way you probably don't know it. The ones you would see aren't your typical horror story vamps - for the most part, they have no aversion to sunlight, and shoving a cross in their face would only make them as angry as a normal human being. Their ancestors are the ones you really need to worry about; the undead who roam the underground caverns or very rarely venture to the surface at night. Even if you haven't seen them.. chances are, if you've been outside after dark, they've seen you.

In addition to the vampires of Opium are the vampire slayers, or "protectors." Most don't go around hunting vamps without a reason, although there are rogues in every pack. More often than not, these target their own kind - by which I mean rogue vampires, or those without a coven. Those who are less likely to be missed.

Disclaimer: this idea for this roleplay is a jumble of many works of literature, combined with a few original ideas.

// rules & how to join

• absolutely no out of character drama. in character drama is encouraged to make things interesting.
• no god-modding or powerplay. if you don't know what this is, please look it up. the first part of the password is your ooc zodiac sign.
• there is a one-week ban before you are allowed to date, and you must date for at least one month before marriage. children (other than adoptions) are only allowed for certain pairings, please see the race/species section for more information.
• your faceclaim must be a real person. this means no applying as anime/fairytale/mythical/etc characters.
• as this is CLEARLY an au, remember you are not your faceclaim. you are simply using their likeness and name to represent your character.
• keep or rated conversations in the appropriate room. we don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. the second part of the password is your ultimate bias.
• once you have been accepted (meaning an admin has replied to your comment here on the AFF), your character is reserved for 48 hours. if you delete your comment at any point before you have been added into the roleplay, we assume that means you have decided not to join us, and your application will be scrapped and your reservation dropped.
• please inform the admins if you wish to leave the roleplay, or if you are needing to take a hiatus. leaving without informing an admin beforehand will result in you being banned from rejoining.

• subscribing is mandatory, but please upvote also if you can!
• fill out the application at this link (it's a google form but you don't need an account or have to sign in or anything to fill it out)
• comment letting us know who you applied as, so that an admin can accept you and add you to the group chats.
• if you wish to reserve before filling out your application, you may do so with the comment "reserving {faceclaim here}," and your reservation will be held for 48 hours before it is dropped.
