the royal guard

✩ Lucia walked down the hall just knocking on Areum's door. She didn't get an answer so she opened the door just finding the other girl asleep cuddling with her cat. She walked over to her as she gently shook her awake. "Areum." She said as the other girl rolled over. 

"Oh, I fell asleep." Areum said as she yawned. "Oh right, we had plans today. Sorry." She said as Lucia shook her head. 

"I don't know if you call helping set up a for party plans, Areum. This is a silly party. Why does your father insist it happen?" Lucia asked "I mean there is a threat on the rise." She said 

"Well extactly. We have to keep the citizens happy. It isn't just a party. It is a festival! Don't you like them?! I love them." Areum said as she hopped off her bed. "Besides today is juat a meeting for it. Don't be so grumpy." She said 

"I am a royal guard, Areum. I should be helping train the new ones. Instead your brother doesn't like that a girl is smarter than him and told me to hang out with you. No offense, Areum. I love you, you know that." Lucia walked with the younger one

"I know." Areum rolled her eyes. "You have to get over my big brother's pride and ego. That will never change. He is just in a fussy mode that Yugyeom is in the hospital and he is having to pick up the slack." Aruem said 

"Exaclty my point! I could be doing that!" Lucia looked at her 

Areum just shrugged. "I don't know anything about that type of stuff. I only get to attend party making plans as you put it." Areum said "Because this is what girls do." She strung her arms through Lucia's arm as they walked. 

"Just what I spent all my life training for." Lucia smirked down at Areum. They walked into a meeting room just sitting down in chairs. The meeting took about an hour then Lucia was again walking with Areum. "Well I have the afternoon off, do you want to go do something?" She asked 

"Okay, we can go play with Wook and Dong out in the garden? You haven't been able to let them run around have you?" Areum asked 

"Alright, lets go get them." Lucia said as they walked to Lucia's room. Lucia lived on the palace grounds to be able to protect the trio of siblings better. She walked to her room just opening the door and got their leashes as she attached them to the two wolf dogs jumpping up for her attention.  Lucia followed Areum to the garden as it was fenced in just letting the two dogs off of their leashes as she tossed Areum a ball. "Just throw it, one of them will go get it and bring it back to you." Lucia said as she tossed the one in her hand as she watched Areum throw hers. She smiled as Areum seemed to be having fun. She looked over at the training building as training was over for today and Haekyeon was coming this way as he had to pass them to get to their rooms. 

Areum looked at her brother as he passed. "Oppa, why didn't you let Lucia-unnie lead the training! It is her job." Areum said as she tossed the bag for Dong. 

"Areum-" Lucia started as Haekyeon stopped. 

"Areum. Who is older?" He questioned her 

"You." Areum said 

"Oh, for a second I thought it was you who was questioning what I was doing? Don't do it again." Haekyeon glared at her. "Besides I am sure you two had a great time at the meeting, you even have time to play around." He walked off 

Areum looked at Lucia. "Are you mad?" She asked 

"No, of course not.  You were only trying to help, but you have to learn that you are never going to win against him." Lucia said as she looked at her. 

"I know." Areum sighed. "Maybe one day." She said as she bent down just petting Dong's head. 

Lucia nodded as she watched Haekyeon giving order a few soilders that had brought up a report for him as she shook her head. She turned back to Wook just tossing the ball.
