The Wind Prince

Description

Aiolos, the Greek god of the winds, had many sons. But a majority of them were demigods, which meant that they were a thousand times more vulnerable than the average god. But out of the countless children he had all over the world, he only had a handful of children that were of gold blood. But out of the few of them, only one stood out in his fighting skills, his knowledge, and his composure at the face of an obstacle. And also as the son of the goddess of love, Aphrodite, he had the most handsome face any man could have; he had girls falling at his feet, he had boys getting envious over his looks.

But he never had the love a child needed for development and growth. No one cared about who he played with. And only when Aiolos found that his days were numbered and he eventually had to pass his role on to someone, he went to visit his son, only to feel a sense of regret and failure when he saw a couple of girls leave his chamber. They were his playmates.

"What is it that you've come to see me for, father?" Sehun muttered when he left the chamber in a robe, his hair dishevelled and his lips in a constant smirk.

"Ah..." Aiolos cleared his throat.

Being a Greek god, he was always busy. He never got to meet his demigod children, only the lucky gold-blooded ones did. But even then, he only managed to visit them a couple of times, and at short intervals. This was only the third time he had met his son and he was slightly shocked by how dark and brooding his son was despite his young age. He was such a terrible father, but there really wasn't anything Aiolos could do about it when he was needed by mortals and gods the same.

Aiolos let out a sigh when his son cocked an eyebrow impatiently. "I just came to see how you were doing," he finally answered.

Sehun's laughter was hollow. "That's nice. Coming to see how I am doing after only two centuries. You deserve the Best Father award."

Aiolos clenched his jaw and his eye twitched. Sehun had a sharp tongue that he knew just how to use to make one mad. But with the fire starting to kindle within him, Aiolos could feel his power burning away as well, slowly losing its strength. He had to do something about the wind prince so that he could inherit the role as god of the winds. And Aiolos had to do it fast.

He gave his son a tight smile. "I see that you're enjoying..." He glanced in the direction of the promiscuous women who were still stumbling down the hallway of the palace. "Life..." Aiolos continued. Sehun scoffed and rolled his eyes. "That's good."

Aiolos smiled a fatherly smile. Sehun opened his mouth to snark at his father but the moment he blinked, he was gone. Just like the wind.

"I'm not going to last for much longer," Aiolos pleaded the beautiful lady. "I have to pass on my kingdom to someone."

Aphrodite raised a perfect eyebrow at him. There were four other maidens in the room, each at either a hand or foot, painting her nails.

"Please, Rose... You know how I've always petitioned to Zeus about letting Sehun take over my role. But the boy doesn't take things seriously and with such a handsome face and alluring physique, he's always fooling around with women..."

"And you think that's because of me?" Aphrodite accused.

Aiolos cursed himself. Women always found loopholes in whatever he said and made him turn into some kind of bad guy.

"No, of course not!" He shook his head. "You know that's not what I meant!"

"What do you want me to do, then?" she drawled, now shooing her maidens away as she checked her perfectly manicured nails.

When it was just the both of them, Aiolos answered tentatively, "Grow a heart in Sehun..." Aphrodite quirked her eyebrow in amusement. He sighed. "Us gods are so much more powerful and stronger than the mortals. But if there is something we can learn from them, it's their ability to love. I want Sehun to encounter a kind of love that will guide him to the right path, to be a good ruler of the winds."

The thing about the Olympian gods were that they were so prideful and never saw things in the eyes of the mortals. They always thought they were above the humans and therefore never concerned themselves much with them. But the other gods that were equally as important but never as well-known, they saw everything with a relatively clearer vision and they understood things with a relatively bigger heart. That was probably one reason why Aphrodite was so attracted to Aiolos in the first place to grant him a child such as Sehun.

Aphrodite smiled and stood from her seat. She went over to her desk, her beautiful white tunic flowing behind her like a wedding dress. Aiolos followed behind her uncertainly. She sat at her table and, on a piece of paper, started writing.

Dark as the abyss,
lost at sea he is.
To my darling son with a heart of stone,
let the power of love be shown.

May the Fates grant my wish and plea,
to give my son a mortal girl to love, not to flee.
To teach him an eternal lesson to value and to cherish,
a beautiful woman with the fragility of a delicate flower that might one day perish.

Yet if he learns to love and put his pride aside,
to come to you, pleading for his love to never leave his side,
One more request the goddess of love will ask of you,
to consent to his wish for his heart is true.

For the trust in love the goddess of Love, Aphrodite, has will never fade,
all of this, I will put in the hands of the Fates.

Aphrodite then sealed the letter and tied it to a white dove to have it sent to the Fates. And now, they wait.

Foreword

To Queens:

Thank you for always supporting me and gifting me with your time and talent. I really am very grateful for all the artworks that you've made for me even without me asking for it. I know it takes up a lot of time and effort. I promised you a one-shot as Thank you and so here it is. It should have similar vibe to Touch of Spring (I know how much you love ToS!!!) and I've also always wanted to write dark prince!Sehun. So I mixed the two ideas together and this is what I got! I really hope you will like this, though I'm not sure when I will have the story up. Hopefully it will at least be in time to serve as a Christmas present?! Haha. So yes, thank you so very much and I hope you enjoy this!

xoxo

Chapter 1: I love that they don’t always have to say everything for the other to know what one is thinking..also I liked that it was subtle that Sehun changed after he had lost her for a couple days bc he finally realised what he had and that’s why he swallows his pride to get her back
