Come Sleep With Me!

Sunggyu just stood there looking stunned. What did she just say?

“Hey. You okay?” the girl said, peering at him. Sunggyu snapped back to his senses.

“I- I think I misheard you. What you said just now---“

“I said, if you refuse to take the room for yourself, then let’s just share it.” She said it like it was the most natural thing to do in the world.

‘This girl…' Sunggyu thought, still not believing his ears. ‘How can she ask a stranger to share a room with her?’

“Well…?” she waited for his answer.

 “I- I can’t. I mean, you can’t do that. I-it’s kind of…” Wait, why am I even stuttering?

“It’s what? What’s the problem with it?”

“How can you share the room with someone you thought was a robber?”

“But you said you weren’t, right?”

“Of course I’m not a robber. Still…”

“What’s the problem then?”

“It’s just… weird. I mean, I’m a boy you know.”

“So?”

“So?” He gaped at her in disbelief.  “So??? You’re a girl! We just met, and you want me to sleep in your room?”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were allergic to girls.”

“W-who said I’m allergic to girls?”

“Well then, I’m sorry that you’re allergic to me,” she pouted, sounding butthurt.

Sunggyu fought the urge to roll his eyes. She’s starting to remind me of a certain choding…

“It’s not like that. It just isn’t right for a boy and a girl who just met to sleep together.”

Sunggyu realized just how weird his words must have sounded when he saw the girl’s eyes widen in shock.

“I-I didn’t mean it that way! What I wanted to say was that it isn’t right to share the room, th-that’s all,” he stuttered, waving his hands. He could feel his face burning. She’s going to think I’m a pervert!

To his surprise, the girl just took a deep breath and crossed her arms.

“Fine. If you don’t want to share the room, then I’ll just sleep here in the lobby with you,” she said. She started sitting down on the floor.

“What? That’s crazy! You can’t do that! It’s too cold out here! It would really be uncomfortable later. Besides, there’s a room upstairs waiting for you. Just go.”

He was surprised when the she suddenly scrambled back to her feet and pointed at him.

“See?” she said triumphantly. “And you want to sleep here?”

Sunggyu just stood there gaping. She really is something.

“What? I caught you didn’t I?” the girl said smugly. “Are you going to try making excuses again? You just said all the reasons why you shouldn’t sleep here in the lobby.”

He sighed in resignation, too tired to continue arguing. ‘She’s even worse than Sungyeol,’ he thought, shaking his head. He took his bag and followed her as she made the way upstairs.

At first, you just suggested the idea for the heck of it and really had no intention of persuading him into sleep in your room. But as he started to reason out, your competitive streak took over. Idol or not, you didn’t want to lose any argument.  Now you were walking up the stairs with Sunggyu trailing behind you.

And to think that this is just my first day here in Korea.

When you reached the room, Sunggyu set his bag down at the foot of the bed.

“Well, we should change our clothes,” you said, looking down at your own dress.

Sunggyu nodded. “You can use the bathroom first,” he offered.

Upon entering the bathroom, you changed into a loose white shirt and sweatpants. You took off your ponytail after washing your face. Drying off with a small towel, you headed out to let him have his turn.

Sunggyu was amazed at the change in your appearance. ‘She looks so much younger and innocent in her bare face, with her hair down like that. I can’t believe she’s the same feisty stubborn girl I met earlier,’ he thought before entering the bathroom.

While he was changing his clothes, you headed towards the closet to get the spare sheets you saw earlier while you were checking out the room.

Good thing they keep extra beddings here.

Moving Sunggyu’s bag to the other side of the room, you took the thick bed sheets and comforter and laid them out over the carpet right beside the bed. When you finally finished, you glanced up to see Sunggyu standing by the bathroom door, awkwardly watching what you were doing. He was also wearing a loose white shirt and sweatpants like you.

Looks like we’re wearing couple clothes. You laughed to yourself.

“Well what are you waiting for?” you said, sitting on sheet. He was still just standing there.

“What?”

“I know you’re tired, so just go on and sleep already,” you said motioning towards the bed.

“You want me to take the bed?” he said in disbelief.

“Uh… yes?”

“You expect me to take the bed while you sleep there on the floor? What kind of man do you think I am?” He walked over towards you. You stared up at him as he bent down to take your arm.

“You sleep on your bed,” he said as he started to pulled you up.

Oh my god. He’s holding my arm! Kim Sunggyu, who I have been drooling for every single day in my computer skin, is holding my arm!

If it wasn’t for him holding you up, your knees probably would’ve already buckled to the floor. You couldn’t even argue with him anymore. Before you knew it, he had already dimmed the lights and you were sitting on the bed while he was settled on the bed sheets on the carpet.

“Night,” he said before lying down.

“G-good night,” you answered softly, still in daze. As you lay down in bed, you felt like the spot on your arm where his hand touched you was burning. Kim Sunggyu held my arm. I wouldn’t ever wash this again.  Never.

You pulled at one of the pillows near you.

“Here, take this at least,” you said as you dropped the pillow beside him.

“Thanks,” he mumbled.

Then silence. After a few minutes, you assumed that he had already fallen asleep. But I don't think I'll ever be able to fall asleep knowing that I'm in the same room as Kim Sunggyu.

“Hey, you still awake?” Hearing his voice, you almost jumped out of your skin.

“Y-yeah,” you answered. “What is it?’

“I just realized…I don’t know your name.”

You gasped and realized that he was right. In the confusion of the night’s events, you didn’t even have time for introductions.

“Oh, I’m sorry. My name is ~~~~.”

“We had quite a memorable first meeting, huh? I’m Kim Sunggyu, by the way.”

“I know,” you murmured.

“Sorry, what was that again?”

“O-oh. N-nothing.”  I’ll tell him I’m that I’m his fan, but not just yet. He probably wouldn’t feel free to act as he wants if he knew that I actually know who he is.

Another stretch of silence passed.

“Good night Sunggyu-sshi,” you finally said.

“Night,” he replied sleepily. He yawned and turned on the sheets.

'Today had been way more exciting than I expected,’ you thought before finally drifting to sleep.
