Hello! Well, I'm currently drowned in college tasks, and while I still try to add bits to my in-progress fics, none of them are near the acceptable length to be updated. So you'd have to wait a little longer for that, sorry.
But, but!
Me + stress usually result in strange fic ideas, and this one has been bothering me for two weeks, can you believe that? I don't think it even has a plot, it's just crack, total crack even, and it has piled up into more than four thousand words when I typed down the scribbled notes two a.m. in the morning so... I think I might have to post it just to entertain those who might be entertained with this kind of fic. Ha.
You'll probably need to have a general knowledge of Naruto to fully enjoy this fic and its lame humor. I don't know if I'll ever churn out chapter two, but I think I will. So I won't mark this as oneshot yet, unless the muse dies a sudden, horrible, irreversible death.
Well, that sums up all I want to say, I think.

Foreword
Cough. Hack. Sneeze.
Fate paces around, glancing worriedly every two minutes towards the sick essence sprawled helplessly on the bed. The speed of his pace is increasing by hours that, by the time Cupid peeks from the door, Fate almost makes a tornado.
“Fate? Fate. OY, FATE!”
Fate skids into a halt. The brewing tornado immediately dissolves into thin air.
“Yes?”
Cupid breathes in relief. “You almost destroyed the room just now,” Cupid points out, hand swooshing around to mimic a tornado. Fate continues to stare, confused. Cupid snorts.
“Oh whatever. How’s Dream?”
Cough. Hack. Sneeze.
Fate’s face falls. “Not better.”
“Oh, this is so silly. We’re divine beings yet we catch flu?”
“Must… up… well…” Dream moans, eyes closed. “Must… cast… dreams.”
Cupid frowns. “Why’s Dream the only one getting flu, anyway? Every single time too.”
Fate looks at the sick forlornly. “Cupid?”
“Yep?”
“I think Dream’s job for tonight needs to be done by someone else,” Fate says. “Can you—“
“Not Cupid,” Dream groans. The last time Cupid replaced Dream, Cupid used the power to make everyone dreamt of their soulmate. Which led to a baby boom the day after, and caused the world to fall into an imbalance of happy endings.
“I’ve learnt my lesson,” Cupid grumbles.
“Life… Death… mad,” Dream grunts. Then coughs. Followed closely with a hack and a sneeze. Cupid’s shoulders sag in defeat. After the horrendous happenings, Life and Death were very distressed and overworked for a full decade, trying to bring the world back to a balance.
“Very well,” Fate muses. “Maybe, Cupid, call Merlin—“
“Not Merlin,” Dream groans.
Fate groans too. Why is Dream so picky? “What’s wrong with Merlin?” Fate huffs, poking Dream’s toe that peeks out from the blanket.
“Last month he shouldered Dream’s task and,” Cupid grins, “caused a set of ninety seven girls get thrown into the magical world. In real life. Messed up some buttons, and all.”
Cough. Hack. Sneeze.
Fate rubs his temple. He has forgotten about that. Life and Death is still running around trying to delete any leftover messes. It wasn’t as messy as Cupid’s accident, but that’s only because Merlin himself managed to pull the 97 girls back within two weeks, and modified their minds to make it all seem like a dream. The magical world itself is still overthrown, though, and that’s what keeping Life and Death anxiously busy.
“Must… cast… dreams…” Dream mumbles again, drawing back the attention of the other two.
Fate sighs. “Fine… Cupid? Call Kami.”
“Kami…?” Dream shifts and groans again. “Kami’s good… no accidents… hasn’t screwed up… not yet…”
Fate and Cupid let out a relieved sigh. Although it’s alarming how many of them Dream considers not trustworthy—because many of them has screwed up Dream’s works before, ha—at least Kami isn’t one of them.
Cupid shuffles out from the room. Kami, it is.
