“For the umpteenth time, So Eun, I am not jealous!” Hae Ryung huffed as she dramatically threw her hands in the air. So Eun chuckled at her best friend and nodded. “Yes, of course you aren’t,” she replied sarcastically, earning herself a glare. So Eun held her hands up in surrender. “Stop with the stink eye, my friend. I’m just saying that your words contradict your actions a little bit too much.”

Hae Ryung rolled her eyes and rested her chin on her fist. She caught Baekhyun with yet another girl on their way to the café today. They were headed to an abandoned alley. The girl was giggling like a maniac and she clung onto Baekhyun like a Koala. She saw Baekhyun whisper into the girl’s ear then he pushed her to a corner. Hae Ryung was stuck frozen in her spot with a gaped mouth and more shattered pieces of her heart. It’s a good thing So Eun was there to ‘semi-help’ her, so she says.

“I don’t understand why you put up with all his bull. You shouldn’t be doing that to yourself, Hae. You deserve someone who knows your worth, you know? Someone better than Baekhyun,” So Eun muttered, shaking her head in disapproval before sipping her latte. Hae Ryung had already fallen silent long ago and she still couldn’t bring herself to talk right now.

She merely looked up at So Eun from the rim of her cup, tightening her grip around it. So Eun saw how uncomfortable she was and softened. “I’m sorry,” she mumbled into her cup. Hae Ryung gave her a weak smile and shook her head. “Don’t be,” she finally spoke. So Eun pouted, putting her cup down and crossing her arms. “He just pisses me off sometimes,” she said, glaring at her coffee.

Hae Ryung only chuckled. She was putting her own cup down when she looked out the window and suddenly gasped, almost letting go of her cup in shock. Right outside the window was Baekhyun. He beamed seeing his best friend and started to wave at her frantically like a toddler seeing his mother after school. The girl was long gone but his disheveled hair told her that she didn’t leave without getting what she wanted from him.

So Eun wondered why Hae Ryung looked horrified all of a sudden and decided to follow her gaze. Her eyes widened when she saw Baekhyun jogging to the café shop. She panicked and quickly held onto Hae Ryung’s hand. “Let’s leave before he–”

Baekhyun was already inside before So Eun could pull her best friend up from her seat. The guy looked around for a moment then spotted So Eun who reluctantly waved at him. He waved back good naturedly as he made his way to their table. “See? You were too slow!” So Eun whispered harshly before Baekhyun could get to them. “Hey, guys!” Baekhyun greeted, pulling a chair for himself. He set it beside a dazed Hae Ryung and scooted even closer to her, bringing his face right in front of hers.

“Nabi?” he muttered, tilting his head adorably at her. Hae Ryung seemed to have snapped back into her senses when she heard his name for her. “Baekhyun,” she breathed. The guy smiled from ear to ear with his beautiful eyes curving into crescents. Hae Ryung couldn’t help but smile back even if she was breaking in the inside.

So Eun felt so awkward just sitting there staring at the two so she humbly excused herself. “I-I have to go. I forgot that I had to be somewhere at the moment. Sorry, Hae,” she gave the girl an apologetic look and dipped her head in a bow.

Hae Ryung helplessly looked at her retreating figure before reluctantly turning to Baekhyun again. “I guess it’s just me and you now. Lucky you, Nabi. You’ve earned yourself a date with me.” He cockily winked at her then stood up. “Wait here. I’ll just order a drink real quick,” he said, tucking her hair behind her ear before leaving.

Hae Ryung nodded in response. When she was sure that he’s gone, she cursed. She cursed her rapidly beating heart. She cursed her hope filled mind and the butterflies raging in her stomach. How could it be like this? How could she have fallen for Baekhyun when she clearly knew that he thought of her as nothing more than a best friend?

Well, crap!

I told myself I wasn't going to start a new fanfic unless the other is finished but here I am, starting a fanfic right in the middle of writing an update for the other.

Now I can't focus on the other one and ugh, I hate myself TToTT

I'll really be finishing the other one though before like, adding more chapters here.

I'm also still debating whether this is going to have in it or not and if I'll have this short or not.

I know this is a pretty cliche' story line but just give it a try.

Maybe it'll be one of your favorite cliche' stories ;)
