Good Morning, Beautiful

“______-ah~”

          I mumbled something incoherent and rolled around on my bed, hearing a faint voice calling my name in the distance.

          “_______-ah~” the voice said again.

          “Mmm.” I opened my eyes slowly and started to see a face come into view as I woke up.

          A face that looked awfully familiar.

          My eyes widened and I immediately brought up the covers to hide my bare face.

          “YAH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” I cried, suddenly embarrassed.

          “What? I can’t go and wake my own girlfriend up for our interview together?” L asked me.

          Shit.

          The interview.

          I’d totally forgotten.

          “SHIT!” I said, kicking the covers off of me and dashing over to the bathroom. I started brushing my teeth and was trying to brush my hair at the same time and I was growing very frustrated. L casually walked into the bathroom and checked himself out in the mirror beside me.

          “YAH GET OUT!” I pushed him out of the bathroom with the toothbrush still in my mouth.

          “Whoa! Look who’s grumpy in the mornings,” L remarked, rubbing the spot where I’d pushed him.

          I slammed the door in his face and quickly brushed my teeth and fixed my hair. When I finished getting ready I found L casually lounging in the living room, watching TV.

          “Hey who said that you could make yourself at home,” I said, snatching the remote out of his hand and turning off the TV.

          “I’m your boyfriend I have permission,” L replied.

          “You’re not my boyfriend how many times do I have to repeat that?” I grabbed a granola bar and started to much on it.

          “Well for now, I am,” L said.

          I rolled my eyes. “Sure. Keep thinking that.”

          “I took pictures.”

          My eyes widened. “W-What?”

          L smirked and shook the iPhone in his hand. “Of you sleeping, of course. You know, your bare face?”

          I dropped my granola bar. “D-Don’t you dare.”

          “You don’t scare me, sunbae~”

          “Yah, L.”

          “L’s not my real name.” L laughed and wiggled his phone in front of my face. I dashed over to him and made a move to grab it but L held it up high, his arm extending towards the ceiling. I jumped with all my might but still couldn’t reach it. He was too tall, unfortunately.

          “Shit,” L suddenly said, noticing the time. “We’re late. C’mon let’s go.”

          “Wait no I need to delete those-

          “Shut up we need to go NOW.” L grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the building out to the van out front.

          “There you guys are! Myungsoo what took you so long?” L’s manager asked him.

          L nodded over to me while I was trying to put on my seatbelt. “My girlfriend took forever.”

          “HEY! I’m not your-

          “Well we can still make it, fortunately. Do you guys know what to say?” the manager asked.

          L nodded. “I do. Not sure about her though.”

          “______?” his manager asked me.

          I nodded. “Mm. I know what to say.”

          “Okay. Don’t screw this up guys.”

          L and I nodded in unison. “We won’t.”

          “Welcome to Korea’s number one rated good morning show. Today we are pleased to have two of Korea’s most current popular idol stars: let’s welcome, INFINITE’s L and solo singer, Lee ______!” Reporter Cho announced as the audience clapped.

          L and I, with our arms linked, walked onto the stage and bowed towards the audience and the reporter.

          “Awww look at them,” Reporter Cho cooed. “Take a seat, please.”

          I immediately yanked my arm out of L’s and took a seat on the couch. I knew that Jaejoong could be watching this, so I didn’t want to look too comfortable with L.

          “You two have been quite the hot topic lately,” Reporter Cho said. “So is it true? Have you two really been together for a while now?”

          “3 months,” L said. “Not that long, really.”

          “Oh but it seems like it is!” Reporter Cho said enthusiastically. “Any stories on how you two first met?”

          I didn’t say anything, because I seriously didn’t want to give Jaejoong the idea that I actually liked this kid. I knew that keeping quiet was a bad move, considering how hard Ashton and Woolim worked to set this relationship up in the first place. But honestly, I couldn’t help it. I secretly hoped that Jaejoong would hear me saying, “It’s only fake. We’re not dating. I love you.”

          L got the hint that I wasn’t going to talk so he took the leash.

          “Um…” L thought about it, then laughed a bit as he said, “I remember she was promoting her 2^nd full album. I was still a trainee back then and my friend invited me to one of her concerts. I was never exactly interested in her or her music until I actually saw her perform in person. I don’t know if she remembers…but she met eyes with me while I was in the audience. And it’d seemed like love at first sight, almost. Ever since then I’d been a fan of hers. To be honest, she’s probably one of the main reasons why I wanted to become a singer and not just an actor or a dancer.” L looked over at me and grinned a bit as he said, “I’m really happy to have her with me.”

          I stared into L’s eyes and felt somewhat moved at what he’d just said. It was almost as if he really meant it.

          The audience cooed and awed and Reporter Cho smiled. “Awh that’s adorable! ______, any comments on L’s story?”

          I blinked. “U-Uh, I was never really interested in him at first. But he kept chasing me, it become impossible not to like him hehe.”

          Oh god my confession sounded so awkward compared to L’s. God dammit.

          “Thank you for being with us here this morning L and _______! We wish you guys the best of luck in the future,” Reporter Cho said.

          “Thanks for having us here,” I said with a signature smile.

          The audience clapped and L and I descended off of the stage. L walked ahead towards the waiting room to wait for our ride, sliding his hands into his pockets.

          “Wait!” I said, running to catch up to him.

          L turned around, looking annoyed. “What?”

          I stopped. “U-Um…what you said back there during the interview…was it-

          “No. It’s not a true story,” L said, answering the question that I was about to ask.

          “Are you sure? Because it sounded so real,” I said.

          L shrugged. “Maybe I’m just a good actor.”

          “Hmm…maybe.”

          L started walking again to the waiting room and I stood there, still not fully believing his response.

          “YAH, _______, are you coming or not?” L barked.

          I snapped out of it. “Coming!”
