Preface: The Wedding

The way she walked down the aisle… the beautiful eyes… the gorgeous dress… the proud smile…

My breath caught in my throat. I could feel my heart speeding up. Sweat condensed on my face as I swallowed the lump in my throat. No, I wasn’t about to cry. Eun-young just look that amazing. And the fact that she was walking down the aisle for me made me the happiest man alive. I was only nineteen, but was deeply in love. I kept my composure tall and natural.

The moment she stood in front of me, the congregation took a seat. The priest then began his routine. All the while, Eun-young and I stared at each other. I could’ve died from happiness. She was my first love, and my only one.

Can you believe that the first time I saw her, I saw us getting married one day? Yeah, it was weird, but true. I was at the park on Christmas three years ago. My mother wanted to take me out to the park because she couldn’t buy enough presents for me. I had no intentions of playing like a kid, but I went around and made sure the little kids had their fun and didn’t get hurt. That was when I looked up and saw the most beautiful angel sitting on a bench, crying. It hurt my heart for some reason, but back then I had no idea what it meant. I went over to talk to her, and, after a while, she opened up. I let her cry on my shoulder. It was her fifteenth birthday after all. Then one week later, I saw her again in the store. She seemed bashful at first, but when I asked her out, I could tell she had a hard time not smiling. She agreed to be my girlfriend, and that’s where everything started.

Now we were getting married. I felt infinite love for her. Nobody could change my mind and nobody could mess with us.

The priest finally finished the scriptures and moved on to the vows. I cleared my throat and smiled down at Eun-young. I hoped she liked the vows I made for her.

“Eun-young, my life without you isn’t even an option. Without you, I’d be nothing. You made me into what I am today, and I’m forever grateful for that. You’ve stayed with me for the longest time. I don’t think any other couple can do what we’ve done, and I’m determined to keep it that way. I promise you to be the best husband there has ever been and ever will be. I’ll be there for you whenever you’re sick, whenever you’re tired, whenever you’re hurt, and whenever you just need me. I will love you forever, Eun-young. That is my promise to you.”

I could see the hot tears in her eyes. She smiled up at me weakly. I listened as she did the traditional vows with her own little tweaks: “I wouldn’t be here without you.” “You changed me into a happier person.” And, my personal favorite: “I’m absolutely positive I couldn’t find anybody better than you.”

I looked down at her with all the love I could muster. Reality finally hit me. It was the day I always wanted to have with her. It was Christmas Eve, the day before my baby turned eighteen. I was going to wake up with her in my arms, my official wife. It was definitely the day I always dreamed of.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife,” the priest said with a smile. He looked at me for my queue. I took a shaky breath. “You may kiss the bride.”

I gently put my hands on her hips and pulled her in. She had the brightest eyes, and her smile couldn’t get any more beautiful. She wrapped her arms around me, and, right before we kiss, whispered, “I love you.” My heart fluttered and I brought her in as close as I could. The crowd roared at our union.

Eun-young and I parted with wide, bright smiles upon our faces. It was our day. It was our moment.

It was only the beginning to the rest of our lives.

A/N: This is only the starter to what the rest of the story's going to look like. As you can probably tell, it's in Minwoo's POV and not Eun-young's this time. Why? Well, I got a little bored with Eun-young's point of view, and I have to practice with the guy's side of things so I can write better fanfictions, so I decided to write with Minwoo :) I hope you all like it ^^ Please comment :D
