though blurry, he could make out the silhouette of a man, a hand wrapped around the stem of a flower. as the man came closer, the faint details of a rose gathered in his mind and he tearfully took in the obscured sight of it. it's colour slightly faded, it's petals seemingly wilting, and it's stem far too long with thorns scattered onto it's tattered green—but it was all he needed for tears to finally fall from his eyes. he was accepted into a loving embrace, and acceptance finally drove its way into his heart. he was indeed going blind, but he didn't need to see to know he was loved.
