Kim Namjoon looked normal.
He went to school. He hung out with friends. He rapped on the streets and wrote music. He dressed well. He had a mother and a father and two brothers, one older and one younger.
Kim Namjoon was empty.
He would wake up only to wish he could fall back asleep. School was too easy. His friends didn't need him. His parents spent too much time worrying about their baby and firstborn to worry about the middle child. He could disappear without a trace.
Kim Namjoon looked normal.
But online RM wrote exactly what Kim Namjoon looked like inside.

I felt really compelled to write this. I'm not sure why. Anyway, depression is an issue I really care about. I hate the way it's trivialized and treated as unimportant. Depression is a real disease, and it's just as debilitating as anything physical.
If you're depressed it's okay. I've been there. It's a personal hell hole that's nearly impossible to escape. But it's possible. I promise.
Unfortunately, not everyone is given the chance to heal. That's what this story is about.
And remember, if any of you want to talk, I'll always reply, without judgement or pretending to understand what you're thinking. But I will always listen.
