How Jung Yonghwa Ruined My Perfect Record

Description

“I love you.” “Goodbye, I’ll miss you too.” “What?” “Goodbye.” “Did you hear me?” “What?” “I love you.” “Who?” “You.” “Me?” “Yes.” “WHAT?!”

Foreword

Rumors were buzzing around the building as I walked into the Record Label FNC Music building. I had heard all of them; just recently at an audition for FNC Music some "handsome" guy had auditioned and blown the judging panel away, apparently he had a raw charisma that no one else in the industry had. He was signed instantly and is now a new trainee. Everyone was talking about him and gossiping about how he would become our new secret weapon. I had heard it all, his name is Jung Yonghwa and he's a solo artist that is apparently going to debut at the beginning of next year.

I sighed deeply and my heals clicked against the halls tiles. Rumors were the female species specialty and I had heard every possible rumor, though unlike most women in this industry I put no trust behind them, I spread none, and I encouraged none.

"Hello health coach Shinhye." One of the entertainers greeted me.

"Hello Seok-jin." I greeted him informally and he smiled, "You’re in a new drama series right?" I asked curiously.

He smiled sheepishly, "Yes Shinhye. I’m playing a main character, it’s all thanks to you." he bowed in gratitude and I smiled, I love it when I get recognition for all my hard work. You see I had worked with him when he was a trainee, he was my first actually and I had to say I was proud of my work, thanks to me he had the most desirable body in the business and women lusted after him.

"Ah yes," I smiled, "are you still following that daily schedule I drew out for you?"

"Everyday." He shot his winning smile, complete with dimples and his eye smile.

"Good." I smiled and then continued on my way, I was on my way to the company president to get my next job, or should I say my next trainee?

I pushed the heavy door open. The president of FNC Music stood up with a smile and greeted me.

"Ah Park Shinhye!" he smiled from ear to ear.

"President Han Seong Ho." I greeted him formally and bowed.

He chuckled from his throat, "I told you to just call me by my first name."

"Sorry." I apologized for it like I always do, but him and I both knew that I would continue to address him formally.

"Have you heard the rumors?"

"Yes sir."

"Then you know what I called you here for…"

I took on the task of Jung Yonghwa's personal fitness trainer. And today is our first official meeting...I waited at the bottom of the hill for my trainee to show up. For me it was just another job, just another day. I was early so he still had a few minutes to arrive here before it was our designated time. I frowned down at my lucky running shoes, I really hope this is an easy job. The last trainee I had been put in charge of was VERY physically unfit and had a poor personality to boot, and when it came to me asking him to push himself he was VERY hostile.

"Excuse me, are you miss Park?" I heard a hesitant male voice.

I looked up to see a handsome boy around my age looking down at me; there was no doubt in my mind that this boy with a face like a model was Jung Yonghwa. I got up and patted myself off. For a first impression he wasn’t that bad, he did said 'excuse me' after all…so he's off to a good start...

"I'm Park Shinhye, you can just call me Shinhye because I will just call you Yonghwa." I said my routine introduction.

Yonghwa searched for words clumsily before he lamely said, "Ye-yes." His second impression was shy. I looked up and down his profile, he wasn't that bad really. He didn't have excess fat and there was no attitude problem. Overall it should be an easy couple of months. My eyes fell on his glasses and I frowned, I had seen almost every noobie do this. "Those glasses," I stated, "do you need them?"

His eyes widened behind the large rims for a moment, "well n---" he started but I cut him off "then take them off." was my immediate response.

"But what if someone recognizes me?!" his mouth gaped open and he looked around to see if anyone was watching.

"No one will recognize you. You haven't even debuted yet." I stated matter-of-factly.

He looked like he understood my logic; he nodded and then slowly took off the glasses to reveal gentle brown eyes. The look in his eyes was innocent and gentle. That instant I knew he would make girls swoon. His faint smile made me almost drop dead from infatuation. No wonder the judges had chosen him, hell if they hadn’t some other company definitely would have. He was the opposite of all those bad-boy type guys that the girls were swooning over; he was a breath of fresh air that this business needed.

"You’re staring." He spoke quietly and for the first time I noticed he was blushing. Definitely not the bad boy type.

"Here" I took out a timetable I had planned last night and handed it to him.

He looked at it blankly as he read over it, "Do I really have to do all this?" he asked looking up from under his bangs.

"Yes." I answered dully.

He moved his mouth to the left and looked it over again.

"But jogging every morning, gym in the afternoon and boxing in the evening. Isn’t that too much? I won’t have enough time to practice singing…" he complained.

"Boxing is only two times a week and there is no gym on those days. Not even mentioning that weekends are days off" I explained crossing my arms over my chest.

"I don’t have much of a choice do I?" he asked with a shy smile.

"Nope." I smirked. Oh yeah, I was a slave driver compared to other coaches in this business. Most of them sugarcoated their training, which made it take longer to get results. But not me, that’s why I’m considered the best.

"Then let’s begin now." I smiled my heart-capturing smile and then noticed what Yong Hwa was wearing. My eyes scrolled down from his face to the necktie, suit, vest, and suit pants.

"Uhh…" he started.

"What are you wearing?" I asked, I couldn’t believe my eyes. No other trainee had appeared in such…formal clothes.

"I was told to dress appropriate to meet a lady." He awkwardly explained, "I knew I was meeting my physical coach but they didn’t say that we would start today so I figured it was just a introduction meeting."

I sighed deeply. So much for a good first impression.

"We are going to go to my uncles so you can get dressed appropriately, and you will be beginning today, understand?"

"Ye-yes."

"UNCLE!!" I hollered into the house as I entered with Yonghwa in tow.

"Oh?" My uncle called from the couch, he was watching a boxing match. My uncle was a man in his late thirties and was a laid back man with good sense of humor. His house was a monument of his younger years, filled with boxing trophies that ranged from 1st place to trophies just for coming. He owned a sports center with a pretty well known boxing club and was a coach himself. He was a well-liked guy and I brought all my trainees to him for his boxing training and help. And despite his sports center being swept spotless every night his house wasn’t really presentable. He was a bachelor and never really did more cleaning then was necessary. His floor was covered with empty pizza boxes, dirty clothes, and littering his tables were emptied beer cans and some miscellaneous things. Yonghwa had obviously never stepped into such a messy room because his eyes widened at the sight and he looked horrified.

"Weren’t you supposed to show up later for the training?" my uncle asked then he saw Yonghwa, "Oh! Hello!" he grinned and stood to meet him, "Nice to meet you! You must be Yonghwa!" my uncle grinned from ear to ear as he shook Yonghwa’s arm out of it’s socket. Yonghwa looked to me for help and an explanation.

"Yonghwa this is Uncle Park, Uncle Park this is Yonghwa." I sped through the introductions and got to the point, "Can Yonghwa here barrow some clothes for today?"

Uncle Park looked up and down Yonghwa’s outfit quickly as he let go of his hand, "He can’t really train in this get-up can he?" he asked with knitted together eyebrows, my uncle never really liked suits and he never understood why a real man would wear something so uncomfortable. "Yeah, Shinhye can you go get the clothes for him? You know where they are."

Without a word I went through the short hall and straight to his dresser in this room, I grabbed my uncles’ largest pair of sweatpants and a large sweatshirt and T-shirt. Yonghwa was a good few inches taller than my uncle was and would need as big of a size as we had.

As it appeared the sweatpants fit around his waist perfectly but were too short for his long legs, they fell a few inches above his ankles. And my uncle’s biggest sweatshirt was pink with a cancer symbol covering his whole back. Yonghwa walked out of the bathroom looking, for lack of better words, weird.

"BWAHAHAHAHA!!" both my uncle and I broke into laughter at the sight of him. We gripped our stomachs and couldn’t stop; We bellowed laughter through the house for a good few minutes. I wiped a tear from the corner of my eyes before I finally regained myself.

"Are you done?" Yonghwa asked impatiently with his arms crossed over his PINK chest. Pfft! I held back another fit of laughter, "Ye-heh-yeah." I smiled; he was so far my favorite celebrity wannabe.

"Uncle." I started and then noticed he was still chuckling behind me, "UNCLE!" I snapped him out of it!

"Yes?" he asked with a smile still plastered on his face, "Are we going to start with boxing today?" he asked already knowing the answer.

"Please?" I asked, trying to look cute. That sent my uncle back into a fit of laughter. Jerk.

Yonghwa turned out to be weaker than I expected. At the gym he kept sighing and looking like he would give up any second, it was hard to make him give his all. And he looked like he was about to faint when we went to have lunch. And he didn't even seem to have that much of an appetite. I had to force him eat. I wish I had his appetite, I eat like a pig.

My plan was to get some food into Yonghwa so that he could bulk up and get some muscles. God must love calories, because he made so many.

At the end of the training for today Yonghwa had been forced to work on all of Uncle Park’s exercise machines he owned. Then my uncle gave him the usual personal boxing lesson, while continually yelling at him for not hitting hard enough. My uncle was a nice enough guy but when it came to work he was a real stickler. Yonghwa looked like he was going to pass out when he walked into my uncles’ living room with us.

"Is he going to be able to survive?" My uncle asked me looked at him concerned.

"We’ve trained worse then him." I blandly stated and then looked at him, poor guy looked like he was going to die.

"Okay," I patted Yonghwa’s shoulder, maybe too hard cause I saw him wince in pain, "Go take a shower then we’ll take you home today since you don’t have a ride."

Yonghwa weakly bobbed his head then walked into the hall and entered the room I had told him was the shower. A minute later we heard the shower turn on.

"How long do you think it’ll take us to get him ready for the spotlight?" I asked.

"The hell if I know, how long do you think it’ll take you to fall for this one?" he retorted.

"I’m not going to fall for him." I spit back sternly.

"Why not? He’s your type isn’t he? And he’s not a jerk like a lot of the others."

"Not all of them were jerks." I tried to use that as a way of distracting my uncle.

"Maybe, but I saw how you were watching him with a concerned look in your eyes."

"So what?" I retorted.

"So what?" he asked back incredulously, "You’re known as ‘The Monster’ in your company. You never show pity or concern, you are known for being ruthless and sadistic in your methods."

"Gee thanks. I lined my words in sarcasm. Everything he said was true but I didn’t like it. I was known for pushing my trainees to their limit and then beyond, usually at work they would make shirts out of the words I would say to get my trainees up, directly quoting me then selling the shirts for a profit. I was kind of famous even, though it wasn’t a good thing. Fans hated me for being mean to their ‘oppas’ while training them. Sheesh, don’t they know who to be grateful for those perfect abs that they swooned over?

"I’m also known for never crushing over my trainees too ya know?" I pointed out. It wasn’t uncommon for a fitness coach to fall for the trainees, after all they spent a lot of time together and almost always the trainees had attractive faces.

"What will your boss think when he finds out that you’re going soft?" my uncle asked with a grin ignoring what I had said, he was just having fun pushing my button but that didn’t stop me from letting myself get annoyed.

"I’m not going soft!" I glared at him from across the dinner table.

"Then you just have a soft spot for him?" he asked with a smirk. Damn it, he did that on purpose and I fell for his bait.

"Shut up!" I raised my voice.

"What’s going on?" a gentle voice asked from the end of the hall, Yonghwa stood at the end of the hall and stared at me. His hair was still wet and sticking to his forehead and the back of his neck, he had a small towel around his neck to catch any falling water droplets and he was in his suit again. Dang he looked hot, maybe I was wrong about him just being cute? But I still don’t have a soft spot for him!

"Nothing." My uncle smiled at him then shot me a knowing look. He knew my thoughts like I had said them out loud.

"I’ll drive you home, are you ready to go son?" my uncle smiled and took hold of Yonghwa’s shoulder. He only called people he liked son, though it seemed weird it was his way of saying that he liked ‘em. Yonghwa looked over his shoulder as Uncle Park dragged him out of the house and gave me a weak smile. My heart skipped a beat and I raised my hand to wave goodbye to him, unfortunately or maybe fortunately he didn’t see it before the door was slammed shut.

Shinhye what have you gotten yourself into this time?

This boy just might ruin my perfect record.
